Majority of players won't hit 32 until next expansion (unacceptable)
Levelling up Crota gear takes ~21 shards per piece. Assuming you get an exotic as a fourth piece, that's ~63 shards to hit lvl 32.
Crota only has three loot drops, one pretty much guaranteed chest and another chest that is hard to get. So for most of us, that means 3 drops and a chest. Compare that to the Vault that had 3 chests, and 4 drops. Even with that many drops and other ways to get ascendant mats (dailies, engrams, dismantling), it still took a while to get the mats to hit 30. Crota has one less drop and one less chest with no supplemental way to get Radiant mats.
The rest of this post is assuming you aren't running three of the same class through the Raid each week. (Mainly because its no fun and I would like to assume that's not how Bungie wants us to play their game)
Best case you get 2 Radiant Shards from every drop and chest after getting three pieces of gear. That means 4 the first run and 10 every run after that. Meaning we won't get enough mats to hit 32 unless we run the Raid every week for six weeks getting only Radiant Shards. [b]BEST CASE is that it will take 6 weeks to hit 32. [/b]
More likely, is that you get a mix of Shards and Energy along with not always getting the difficult chest and probably not beating Crota the first attempt or two. This pushes the realistic scenario of hitting 32 back to more like 10-12 weeks, or 3 months of raiding every week. [b]REALISTICALLY it will take 12 weeks to hit 32[/b]
That means many players won't hit 32 until the next expansion. Just in time for all their hard work to be negated by vendor gear letting players hit 32 with marks/comms.
I am not a fan of this system. [b]If there was more time between expansions, this amount of work would make sense.[/b] But considering that expansions are hitting every three months, it shouldn't take the full release time to hit max. [b]You aren't giving your players enough time to enjoy the fruits of their labors.[/b]
There need to be other ways to gain Radiant Materials.

5 RespuestasAre all of u guardians forgetting that the rewards/loot in this game is 99.9% "RANDOM"? There is of course the possibility that Someone could run the new Crota raid 1 time and "RANDOMLY" recieve all 4 raid armour pieces. (This is clearly highly unlikely to happen. But still there is that 1 in a million chance.) Because it is... everybody say it with me... "RANDOM"! You could possibly see a level 32 player roaming around within a week or two. P.S. This is totally random, but I just would like to Congratulate the first Raid team that finished the Crota raid, so whoever you are good job, and Congratulations!

1 RespuestaLevel 32 should be a guarantee, and quickly. Its the perks on gear that people should be playing for. Give us all 32 light, but give the hard mode raid gear perks like chance on hit to Regen life, chance on hit to get a buff, chance on taking damage to gain a protective barrier. Be creative with it. But to have people just simply underleveled for a whole expac to artificially create difficulty and a sense of incompleteness, that's just silly..

I have 11 shards and 11 energy(yes radiant) I still have 7 more drops to get amongst two of my characters. I can exchange the energy for shards once I hit rank 4 with Erin so yeah all mine will be 32 before hard mode drops in January. If not then RNG truly hates the hell out of me but at this rate it won't be too bad at all. Also I got 4 pieces of gear and two weapons already! :) not to mention ship, emblem, shader, and cloak.

Ill hit 32 just like i hit 30 .... i guess everyone who cant raid will have to wait till the next dlc and then they will be lvl 33 while im working toward 34

You will be able to exchange energy for shards, and once the hard raid opens up it will double the drops. So it might take a little less. I do agree that the new mats are unneeded and make it take way longer than it should to upgrade raid gear/weapons.

You realize it's been out for what? 2 full days now? We obliviously haven't found everything in the new raid, so shut up and wait for everything to be found before you complain. Also 3 characters and you'll get tons, I've almost used my first shard set to upgrade.

6 RespuestasYou can get the rewards more than once a week...... I did the start part twice and got rewards twice!!! First time 3 shards, second time 2shards And dont forget you can exchange mats using eris for a small price :)

To be honest we have no idea what Eris gives out when you get her to rank 3 and beyond other than the new shaders, emblems, and class item. For all we know she could give out these items in her packages.

14 RespuestasYou do know that scrapping a leveled item gets you more materials, right? I level and scrap any legendary item I don't want, and I've gotten 3+ ascendant materials every time, sometimes even 5. Just pour all your experience into unwanted raid gear and then scrap it.

Many players in Destiny will never touch the raid. So most will be 29-31 till the next expansion. Most of my friends have barely hit 28.

You can take radiant energy and swap it out for radiant shards via Eris bitch.
