Majority of players won't hit 32 until next expansion (unacceptable)
Levelling up Crota gear takes ~21 shards per piece. Assuming you get an exotic as a fourth piece, that's ~63 shards to hit lvl 32.
Crota only has three loot drops, one pretty much guaranteed chest and another chest that is hard to get. So for most of us, that means 3 drops and a chest. Compare that to the Vault that had 3 chests, and 4 drops. Even with that many drops and other ways to get ascendant mats (dailies, engrams, dismantling), it still took a while to get the mats to hit 30. Crota has one less drop and one less chest with no supplemental way to get Radiant mats.
The rest of this post is assuming you aren't running three of the same class through the Raid each week. (Mainly because its no fun and I would like to assume that's not how Bungie wants us to play their game)
Best case you get 2 Radiant Shards from every drop and chest after getting three pieces of gear. That means 4 the first run and 10 every run after that. Meaning we won't get enough mats to hit 32 unless we run the Raid every week for six weeks getting only Radiant Shards. [b]BEST CASE is that it will take 6 weeks to hit 32. [/b]
More likely, is that you get a mix of Shards and Energy along with not always getting the difficult chest and probably not beating Crota the first attempt or two. This pushes the realistic scenario of hitting 32 back to more like 10-12 weeks, or 3 months of raiding every week. [b]REALISTICALLY it will take 12 weeks to hit 32[/b]
That means many players won't hit 32 until the next expansion. Just in time for all their hard work to be negated by vendor gear letting players hit 32 with marks/comms.
I am not a fan of this system. [b]If there was more time between expansions, this amount of work would make sense.[/b] But considering that expansions are hitting every three months, it shouldn't take the full release time to hit max. [b]You aren't giving your players enough time to enjoy the fruits of their labors.[/b]
There need to be other ways to gain Radiant Materials.

I have to agree. It took be like 5-6 weeks to get a level 30 set. I didnt even get the chance to upgrade it until finally DLC came out and I was able to jump to 31.

The problem is that once people hit the cap they realize that there's nothing left to do. Bungie knows this which is why the expansions come out just after most people reach the cap. There isn't actually enough content and the only thing keeping you going is the repetitive grind to the cap.

How about use common sense. Once the hard raid drops thats 2 times as many shards.

Look at my warlock Am 31 and am close I have 7 more radiant shards to spare just waiting to see what I should really upgrade.

I got 25 radiant shards now, 11 radiant energies. As soon as I get crota's bane ranked up I will be able to have 36 shards. When I get the same number of shards/energies again next week I will end up with 72 shards. Im a warlock, I got the gauntlets and chestpiece, when I get the boots as a drop for next week I will have hitten lv32! Pretty damn quick in my opinion ;D

You do realize that the majority of players didn't hit Light Level 30 until The Dark Below, right? This is no different. If you don't raid, you don't hit the level cap. It's that simple.

There is much more stuff in the raid yet to be found😏 everything in VOG has yet to even be found

Honestly, a couple of people I raided with got 10 radiant shards from one drop. It was pretty amazing. Also, they're -blam!-s.

Don't you think that is the point?? Keep players busy until the next expansion. It wouldn't be very entertaining if players could max out again a couple weeks after the dlc releases. I think It's perfect how it is. Stop your whining
