Dear Bungie and Forums,
I'm going to explain why the first DLC -blam!-ed up Destiny for me and all of my friends.
We played the beta and since day one, we were all super excited and had lots of fun and made a lot new contacts while playing the first three months. We played the Vault of Glass, without help and exploiting. Got our own tactics and theories and we spent so much time in getting the full raid set...
Far too much time as it seems.
I got in over 30 runs (i deleted two of my chars and played new ones) with all chests a total amount of 4 set pieces. I upgraded a lot of exotic and legendary weapons and armors. Our whole team was so excited about getting the hard raid stuff like helm and VM that we didnt stop playing, no matter what it took because we thought we will need it in the first DLC.
Yeah, Destiny was fun.
It WAS.
What is the logic, that all people who wasted all their time in the Raid are now fooled because you can BUY better gear instantly ?
Why are all the Exotic weapons I loved and used now worse than my unused because I have to upgrade them again and wasted all the materials on it?
Why cant the ones we fully ugraded pre DLC be upgraded automaticly without Xûr?
You upgrade the Vex Mythoclast to the highest damage just to make it the one iwth the least one week later?
I personally love everything you put into the game. The weapons are nice, the armors look neat. The PVP maps are awesome and the new Raid too.
But sincerely....
What about I use the next to weeks to get the max amount of commendation and coins for Vanguard and Crucible with all characters - abandond Destiny for three months and when I log back in with the next DLC I'll be instantly better equipped than all the people who played it this time...
...This is just ridiculous.
It is nice for all the casual gamers and, as it seems for all that kind of people you (Bungie) aim up too. We others are kicked in the ass by your gear resets and if this will happen with every DLC you will ruin that game totally just like Ubisoft with AC.
Bungie...
You created a excellent shooter with a GREAT design, an awesome universe and perfect mechanics. Why ruin that? Gear resets? Okay. But not every 3 months!
New armor to buy? Okay. But not BETTER than the last raidgear!
I can only speak for myself and everyone i know. But we are going to play Destiny a LOT different from now on.
We named our Clan out of fun "Almost Casual" and now where going to play like that. Casual.
I would have loved if I had now the same experience and motivation with the DLC as with the original game.
I bought your Season Pass and im going to play your two DLC's.
But if you keep your system like this, I'll be out after that.
Cheers.

Editado por St0rmzs: 12/11/2014 11:51:31 AMlol welcome to MMO game(not saying destiny is a mmo) principles where gear gets obsolete. This is nothing new, it just keeps you on the harmster wheel chasing that carrot but never get to it. consider yourself lucky that exotics get a chanse to be better since that is not what happens in other games.
-
Do you realize how easy it will be to upgrade the exotics? They don't require much work at all since the costs are really low. All you need is an exotic shard. And about the armor thing, did you really thing that your raid gear would just magically upgrade you to 32? No. Just like before, you have to earn 32 by getting the new raid gear. You have to grind the raid again. I think the main problem that people have on the forums is that they really overthink the game. All they want to do is get gear and be better than everyone. Just have fun and play the game. Don't worry about getting the best gear. Just have fun with the raid and let the other come with having fun. Also, the bought gear is perfectly fair. Just like before, it can only get you to a level under the cap. You can't reach the cap with it. If you want to bring up earning, this gear is definately earned as you have to upgrade vanguard for a commendation and you need marks. The final 3 upgrades cost 6 shards each so you need 18 for each armor piece. You need 3 armor pieces to get 31 so 18*3=54. Earning 54 shards is hard work. Please just appreciate what we got and have fun. If anyone wants to play with me sometime send me a friend request on 360. My gt is soccerbeast310.

43 RespuestasYour lack of understanding of a lvl/gear based progression system is what's ruined Destiny for you. Anyone with the slightest bit of experience with this will know you're wrong. Current tier gear is basically a way to make current content easier and give you an advantage for the next tier. Nothing else, ypu think yourself lucky there's even an option to upgrade your exotics. If you've ever played something like wow you would know everything you've worked to get will be trashed/dismantled/disenchanted when the next tier is released. Also, lets clear a few things up. Vendor gear is not as good as maxed raid gear. It had the POTENTIAL to be, but isnt straight from purchase. That gear needs to be levelled up first so a new player wont be on the same level as you as soon as they start. They will still need to get rank up vanguard/crucible, get marks and commendations, buy gear and then level it up. Thats alot of work! If you were that dedicated you would have done what plenty of others have. Lvled crucible/vanguard/cryptarch to nearly rank up. Save your bounties and engrams for release day and then hand it all in to get tier2 rewards. Max out marks before hand ready to trade in for new gear/weapons and be ready to grind the crap out if them. The dlc release was fine and there is nothing massivly wrong with the loot system except the exotic thing which could have been handled abit better.

2 RespuestasDid you have fun doing all that stuff?
-
This is the evolution of games similar to this. Fact is however, level 31 is still only level 29.
-
Your mom is the dark below
-
1 RespuestaI liked how in your post you say " I can only speak for myself" but in the topic title you claim Bungie has ruined the game for all dedicated gamers.
-
1 RespuestaI can't read any of this because your grimoire score says you have 22 completions
-
1 RespuestaYou've beaten the raid 22 times. Grats. Grimoire doesn't get deleted. Always nice to see a quick liar.
-
1 RespuestaIMO vog raid gear are still the best with elemental damage for primaries.. go ask someone without fatebringer how the current nightfall is going?
-
i feel what youre saying, it probably would have been better on bungies part if they waited a bit longer before releasing this dlc. that way more people had the vog gear for a longer period of time. if any body has read through the forums you probably seen all the posts about people being angry that RNG isnt in their favor. so imagine that you just finally got your vog gear and now everybody basically gets a free upgrade above you just buy stopping at a vendor. other people in this thread says this happens in every game of this type, its true, but it doesnt usually happens 3 months later. theres normally large amounts of time between "expansions" with substantial content, and gear upgrades. by that time, everyone who wants raid gear, has raid gear and probably has had it for a while, so the sting of having to grind new gear isnt as bad.
-
3 RespuestasBungie should've added extra damage/defense nodes to all raid and exotic gear. You would still have to work to fill out those nodes, but they wouldn't be obsolete. The raid gear could get you to level 31 and 323 damage while exotics get you to 32 and 345. Maybe even require extra exotic shards or use radiant materials for the raid gear. This way though, we still have to do work, we need new raid gear, but everything isn't totally worthless. And, the hardcore gamers get a bonus for working so hard.
-
Stopped at we played the beta... didn't even play alpha
-
If you don't have the dlc there's no point in getting the 31 gear.
-
Exotic's are now more powerful, if Bungie had not allowed you to upgrade them, you would be complaining about how the Exotics are now useless because they are less powerful than new Exotics. VoG Raid gear got you to level 30, level 30 is a great starting point to do Crota's End. You can get to 31 by buying Vendor gear, but it takes time and resources to buy and upgrade the new gear, that time and resources will be MUCH better used by doing the new Raid. There is literally no reason to buy new Vendor gear if you already have a level 30 character, by the time you have fully upgraded Vendor gear, you could have found and fully upgraded new Raid gear, considering how much better the Raid drops are. if you spent tonnes of time having fun in the Raid with your friends, then shut your -blam!-ing mouth, because you bought the game to enjoy it, and you did, Bungie is developing new content, expanding the world of Destiny, increasing the level cap is part of this, and every time the level cap is increased, gear will be changed and upgraded. You have obviously never played any other MMO's, even though Destiny isn't an MMO, it shares the same loot ideology. TL:DR Stop crying and get over it. If you REALLY did enjoy the game as much as you say you did, then you would still enjoy it.
-
yep. they dont know what theyre doing.

1 RespuestaIts all a lesson to learn about life... Some people have to work hard to get ahead in life. They have to keep grinding every chance they get to stay current and competitive in their chosen field of business, and eventually they make it to the top. Others have it handed to them Thats life! Happens all the time. Life isnt fair.. deal with it and move on... On a side note, you might want to watch your sodium levels. Slaty blood can lead to hypertension, strokes, or a heart attack. Have a nice day. ^_^
-
So, you bitch for five minutes to say that you're still going to play.
-
I thought it was gonna be a whiny thread with no argument, but I read through it and was really surprised. You made reasonable thread man, good on you. :) Now time for my input I really don't like the idea of being able to just easily buy gear that's better than VoG gear, when people have gotten screwed over by RNGesus.I think the VoG raid gear should've been updated with current legendary armor.

2 RespuestasI understand completely where you're coming from, because I've been there in most MMOs. Even if the time gap between the endgame loot and the OP expansion loot is >a year, it still hurts inside knowing the badass stuff you have is outclassed by scrubs. The hardest thing about this, though, is that it's inevitable. Power creep is an inherent flaw in all ongoing level-based online games, and the best anyone can do is find ways to work around it. The best solutions I find is games that find ways to repurpose the old content, like being able transmogrify your expansion gear to have the look of your badass pre-expansion gear. It proves you endured the content to get the gear, but still lets you be competitive in stats. Problem is, Destiny doesn't have much emphasis on the look of gear. So that particular solution isn't as viable. One very good point you made is the frequency of the power-creeping content; every 3 months is very bad. And the worst part is, Destiny can't much afford to be less frequent because the base game is so starved for content that they'll risk losing substantial playerbase unless they have a constant stream of DLC content to keep people playing. So I suppose the real solution would be to drop at least a year's worth of content (roughly 4x what the current game has) and then don't add content for a full year. Unfortunately, this will never happen with the current state of the game development. So yeah, TL;DR - we're kinda screwed.
-
Actually Bungie is giving the dedicated gamers more playable content & room for advancement. I like that newbies can get great stuff right away and be able to raid with me soon. This is GRRRREEEEEAT!!!!!!
-
neoPie is right. I will see you in hell Destiny..........or when I get home from work, whichever comes first.
-
4 RespuestasThey need to visit WOW. That's a great system... Yes it's grindy but it's a crap ton of levels and all sorts of weapons and gear. I know it's been out for awhile and there is constant huge add ons and all, but game developers need to check that out and utilize that information. Yes I will play Destiny and continue playing Halo MCC for story until the next game comes out that peaks my interest. I do and do not care that new players can reach the highest level easily. The only reason why it sucks is because I busted my ass off to get where I am at and now it can be done in 12 hrs of game play 😂 shit happens. Luckily my friends play and that's what keeps me playing.
-
But how can you be upset when all loot is random? You could play the VoG 100 times and never get full raid gear. I for one am glad I can catch up to the "elitist "

Editado por BeanTwenty3: 12/10/2014 7:42:25 PMSo basically you never have played a game of this arc-type before which is pretty standard for console gamers to be perfectly honest. That's not a dog to any console gamers that's just the truth For us who have played on pc and played these arc-types were well versed with what a thing like this will. Be like and that a tier system will be here especially in an rpg. If you ask me the only hardcore games Re those with solid season ladders and/ or the mainly PVP ones so league, cs, dota, Starcraft etc ones with esports and places to rise too with more meaning and purpose than " give me those pixels" there worth going hardcore on most of the Pve based games these days are casual so play them as such P.s. Games should equal fun not over taking your life
