EASY EXOTIC CHEST SOLO
Here's a video on how you can go get an exotic raid chest instantly. If you have a character that is a 27 or higher and you don't think that character is ready for the raid yet you can just start up the raid and go grab this quick, and it will give you exotic weapons and the new shards or energies.. (Not sure if you can get the raid gear, haven't heard anyone who has yet) This is crotas end at the very beginning right after you drop down through the bridge.. Enjoy :)

Just done it on 3 characters and the first one took a few wipes but Ion my second I jumped of the hellmouth before the bridge formed and respawned and the chest was in the left door first time, so I died again with my third by jumping off and it was in the left door again first time round,got shards twice and radiant enrgy. This could be just coincidence but worth trying if u haven't done already

1 RespuestaI just did this, and the way that you know if there's a chest in there is if an orange light above the door shines. Took me around 12 tries for 2 shards

Three times I lit the lamp, died and when I came back nothing. The last time I ran over, checked the closed door space, I ran up, used my super, tossed some flash bang grenades (very effective), lit the lamp, ran all the way back without dying. Then checked the door again nada zip nothing. So either this is patched already or it's a glitchy glitch. Edit: After 9 attempts - it finally worked this morning for my Titan. Got 2 energy shards. To be clear - Lighting the Pillar has NOTHING to do with this. It's a complete Random thing. So the chest RANDOMLY shows up. If it did not show up for you, suicide and let it load you in again and run through the doorway until it does pop. Knowing Bungie's RNG, it could be your first attempt or your 75th run through and what you get is a complete Crap Shoot.

that chest is random. it can spawn anywhere in that area. I have been to a chest the appears near the 2nd light. its not hard to solo it just get them to line up and drop a grenade :)

They are going to wind up patching it so it either just gives Helium Filaments or they'll move it deeper in the raid.

My 3 characters got 2 energies, 2 energies, 2 shards... RNG is not on my side this week.

Your wording makes it sound like you can get a chest PIECE from this chest...not the case. It can give exotic weapons for sure though, I saw someone get P&T from there. I solo'd it this morning and it only took 2 wipes to get the chest to spawn at the 1st door...only got energy though.
