My thoughts on the Weekly/Nightfall this week. You are NOT self-entitled to it

You people realize that the Weekly/Nightfall this week is something that is part of The Dark Below DLC right? Everyone who is complaining that they can't do the Weekly/Nightfall this week, DUH ITS PART OF THE DLC! IT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN EVENTUALLY! If it wasn't this week it was going to be later on and you would just complain then. Its exactly the same as with other games. Lets take Cod for example. They release a DLC that includes 4 maps and a gun. If you don't buy the DLC then you don't get access to these EXCLUSIVE items and maps are. Or how about Skyrim? DLC comes out and you can build a house, but you have to buy the DLC to get it. Bioshock Infinite. Wanna play the extra Missions? Buy the DLC. Get over yourself, buy the DLC and enjoy the Strike.

  • How dare you want to have access to what you already have and have had. If you didn't pay for the new stuff you shouldn't have access to the old either. Just throw more money at bungie without thought.

This has nothing to do with self entitlement, in many games I've played dlc Content owners were separated from non dlc owners and those without the content continued their game as normal while those that did have the dlc played their new content without limiting others activities. Bungie just makes mistake after mistake, they seem like they forgot what gaming is and only see a wallet not full enough in front if them.
I own the dark below, and I'm against limiting the playable content of other players to increase sales.
• You do realize that the Weekly/Nightfall is NOT DLC content? Sure, the strike is, but not the actual Weekly/Nightfall. Most people that play endgame PvE play the Weekly, Nightfall, and Raid. Two of those are gone this week, and you think it's justified? Also, they didn't even give a warning, they just said, "NOPE no Nightfall for you if you don't give us money, even though you never needed money for it before"

        • You dumb -blam!-, if only I could slap you in the -blam!-ing throat to get your stupidity away from me... Maybe if you understood how insulting it is that just because I didn't purchase the DLC, I am now unable to play the portions of the game I have paid for... You reference cod.... And yet you see a poor unintelligent view. You still get to play map rotation of the content you do have. I don't want to play -blam!-ing Crotas end... I want to get my strange coins and other shit.

              • This post is very insulting. Anyone who understands quality customer care and good business also understands that this is a greedy claw for more money. I can afford the dlc and was planning on purchasing it until i saw the business practices involved. Yes I do feel entitled to play the content I purchased. It feels very unfair and even most people who purchased the dlc are not pleased with how shallow it feels, please please please if you are reading this research Microsofts business practices in the 90s

              • Yes but with these other games you don't get locked out of a playlist, or unable to participate in a core part of the game, if you don't purchase the DLC. Again communication from Bungie prior to this happening could have alleviated tempers. This is Bungie's continued failure to notify players about what is going on before it happens. They have yet to give us more than a weeks notice on anything but the release of the DLC. I purchased the DLC, yet believe it is unfair that players who did not purchase it do not have an option for a nightfall that they may play. They didn't do this to xbox players with the ps exclusive strike why would they do it with the DLC exclusive strike?

                •
Get over yourself, buy the DLC and enjoy the Strike.
I can't tell if you're trolling or if you're a Bungie employee. No player should be punished (by not being able to run weekly heroic or NF like they could) just because they either can't or don't want to buy more DLC.

                  • This breed of fanboy bullshit is destructive to the game and the industry at large. If you actually find justification in deliberately reducing functionality of the core game to facilitate a marketing strategy, you are part of the problem. New stuff gets added? Only players who buy new stuff can get the new stuff. That's a very normal concept. But telling the players who didn't buy the new stuff that the game they had December 7th is going to deliberately be made less functional to boost short term revenue on December 8th is extremely anti-consumer. The only people who will impulse buy the DLC due to the week lock out are witless idiots. Rational, thinking, informed consumers are not going to fall prey to such low brow marketing tactics. You're getting pissed on and they aren't even giving you the courtesy of calling it rain. It's a giant "F@#% YOU! PAY ME!" Activision and Bungie have no concerns for consumer loyalty, or building a long term IP. Just wait until those Sony exclusive deals run out, and watch every DLC and exclusive item this entire fan base bitched and moaned about be bundled together for a "Destiny: Complete Edition" for PC in about a years time, for $60. After they've bullshitted everyone long enough and nickel and dimed their target demographic with scraps of DLC, they'll just shrug you off with more "F@#% YOU! PAY ME!". They're bending you idiots over and ramming their marketing right up your ass, and you're so short sighted you're actually defending them as they do it. They're taking advantage of a really, really, really stupid target demographic, and it's an insanely effective marketing. Truly there has never been such an amazing business strategy ever implemented in a game design than there is with Destiny. Posts like this are proof of how astonishingly stupid their target demographic is, and how remarkably well they've marketed to these clueless, uninformed, dim witted, morons.

                    • That's just smart marketing if you ask me because you know a majority of people will purchase it or the expansion pass.
