*EDIT-Grammar/Run on Sentences/Dusting off the distractions.
After this last update weapons I feel like Bungie is going in the right direction and taking a step towards better and more competitive & balanced gameplay for PvP and also helped with PvE upgrading armor and weapons. Now I've played past Bungie games from Halo to Halo Reach to now Destiny and I love each of them.
Comparing the PvP from weapons to map design there are striking differences.
Weapons had balance and nothing felt under or overpowered in its respective field of use.
The map would have a predetermined time spawn for power weapons based on the map and game type would determine what weapons spawns and where, forcing the teams to decided what area of the map needs to be controlled and what part of the map has the most traffic.
These weapons were never overpowered and each weapon never felt underpowered, reasons?
There were not that many weapons and each have and hold one maybe two purposes making balance easier you have ten weapons only counting the UNSC firearms.
In Destiny you have you class weapon Primary, Special, and Heavy.
Then you also have roughly 2 or 3 different variation of each weapons, Auto's that spit fast doing little damage. I.e. Doctor Nope and Athlon’s Epilogue.
Then you make roughly have 8 to 12 maybe more different weapons of this class and model, each having upgrades and so on.
Long story short Halo was simple and Destiny if far more complex in comparison.
But what made Halo PvP far more balance? Can it be the weapons? Current setup after the 12/1/2014 patch everything is looking brighter. So what else could cause the crazy balancing issues in PvP for Destiny?
Maps!
The maps in Destiny are great, but lack strategy and variety. Having close quarters, narrow paths, and cluttered open areas. With Halo’s map design it was far simpler with heavy weapon spawn zones being the focus of traffic.
All of Destiny’s maps have openings for other weapons (Scout, Pulse, Snipers) to shine, but leave you exposed, awkwardly positioned, or using the a weapon outside of its intended purpose like quick scope with a sniper at a target within 10 feet, or spamming a scout with a decent hip fire to attempt head shots at Auto Rifles.
So in conclusion I leave with this.
*Maps need to be wider, less cluttered, more variety in how you approach heavily trafficked areas.
*Weapons do not need to be nerffed and or buff unless there is a proven reason for it.
*Ammo needs to be rationed out in a better manger this ways information from watching player in PvP can be more accurately analyzed for bigger, better structural design, and base traffic flow changes to current or new maps. Allowing better feel for competitive and the purpose to break the habit of Shotgun loodouts being the dominate one.
How to do this?
*Fix current maps making them less cluttered, open new less narrow paths to watch over, and aggressively attack zones of importance with weapons that can effectively hit long range to discourage auto rifles and shotguns.
*Make new maps with the current data learned from what we already know and have. People will pay for new maps if they offer something new, like new locations on Earth, Moon, Mars, Venus, and even areas in Raid and Strikes would be fun.
*Fix ammo rations, give less or cause a penalty to death by losing all special ammo.
*Finally allow open beta testing for new maps, and weapons see what people prefer and the traffic or flow of each map.
Where do people go, what spot do they hold most in the map, what area is being used, why this spot is being used, and what weapon are they using to defend, attack, or move through the map needs to be asked.
You want us to try all kinds of different load outs, make sure no one weapon is the best, and you want us to enjoy and grow and have this new world feel more alive? Please look into these things and consider them, this comes sincerely and kindly to the community just as much as Deej and the Devs.

4 RespuestasDisable supers completely for PvP and the gameplay would be much more balanced. Also, grenades that last for a few seconds and keep hurting people around it? Really? That's not a grenade. That's magic, and that is garbage. I agree with losing special ammo upon death. I wish people were good at this game so it would be fun. Instead, it's a bunch of nova bomb, fist of havoc , solar grenade toting noobs. Shoot somebody already, would ya?

The problem with crucible is it's just too safe. With 3 classes all with different abilities it needs to be more than TDM and domination clones. Especially with such vastly different weapons. We need things like attack and defense and war plots. And base vs. base. Hell even CTF would be a good start. With all the variances in gear and abilities these kinds of game types would allow people to utilize things more effective allowing everything to be good for something and not just some barbaric kill fest.

12 RespuestasDestiny PvP= Garbage. Zero Skill. Aim assist is unreal. First shot wins 90% of the time. Laughing at people who actually think it takes "skills" to play this multiplayer.

Please Nerf the last word just a little that gun is so friggin annoying
-
Balance map like a don't clutter make bigger it take more time to shoot it no small map to close to shotgun no place to sniper get shot in back this maps suck it not symmetrical or balance pleas English 3rd language me for. Summary of what the op wrote.
-
Not sure about anything being severely op. But combinations like blink shotgun are extremely fkn annoying. But I think that's as far as it goes... Just annoying. And twice as satisfying when you put that blink spamming dork on his ass.
-
When a whole team is using The Last Word, you can tell that balance is dead.

Editado por albert_flagrants: 12/8/2014 7:06:28 PMIt's not balanced 'cause there are top players, good players, bad players and dumb-thumbs players. The last group doesn't stop crying and whining, they like to ask for nerfs.

I think you guys are just bad.

The titans shield smash is too damn powerful!

51 RespuestasA lot of people here responding are just not very good at PvP. Overall the PvP is VERY well balanced but most people try to play Destiny as if it were Halo or Duty when it isn't. None of the weapons are OP and none of the abilities are OP. There is a lot going on when you fight other players, grenades going everywhere, teammates dying, all kinds of guns. It is a lot to take in, but guess what? Good players excel and crap players die. It's really that simple. Step your game up.

8 RespuestasEditado por Gary : 12/4/2014 5:46:31 PMsorry this is all bollox as long as bungie insists on putting players with 1 hour of PVP time up against players with 1,000 hours of PVP. there is almost no ranking used at all, I see a level 21 toting exotics and playing like he has done nothing all his life but play this game. yet Bungie, (the dumb -blam!-s) don't seem to be able to place him in with others of the same skill set. it is exactly the reason we have over 40s football, and even then we make leagues so that similar skill levels play each other... Bungie just don't get it, people are mostly here just to have fun, the massive majority of people buying this game, are not looking to turn pro, or be the best. They just want to have fun, and PVP is not fun for a huge number of people who DONT want to sink 50 hours of play to "up their game" just to earn a -blam!-ing made up token.

3 RespuestasIt isn't just the maps, although that is a fair point. Example: brs and snipers still ruled lockout. The main difference is spartan lasers, shotguns and snipers were limited, both in ammo and in how many could be used on map. Not the case in destiny. Not only can everyone just walk around with halo power weapons all the time, they also get infinite ammo for them. You cant give people ohk weapons with unlimited ammo and expect them not to use them. Special ammo needs a timer similar (but maybe every 1.5 minutes) to heavies, and only the person who activates them should get the ammo.

7 RespuestasTl:dr ...pvp is balanced.

1 RespuestaI think ammo rations is a good idea along with beta testing. The clutter on these maps really isn't an issue however, noted by the fact that I use a sniper on literally every map and still do more than fine against anyone using fusion rifles or shotguns. One very annoying aspect about PvP in my opinion is sticky grenades that home. I think sticking someone should be able actually sticking them, not just throwing a grenade near someone and letting the grenade take care of the rest. Like the tripmine, stick someone with a tripmine you earned the damn stick.

Well that's all good and everything but until they kick people out that have crap internet nothing they do is going to matter. SHIT CONNECTION = GOD MODE!

16 RespuestasEditado por skyless dayOG: 12/3/2014 6:40:13 PMI agree with you. Halo 3 was the best game ever. No joke. They had balance though. Social playlist and ranked playlist. I feel Crucible is the social playlist and doesnt need to be changed It gives terrible kids something to do making everyone happy. Only thing missing from D E S T I N Y really, is a ranked/MLG playlist Thats what drove 250,000 players online all day everyday, to do just that. Play like it was life. It sure as hell was part of mine, i was in that boat. They need to add some kind of equivalent to MLG/Ranked to the game to give people that drive. They have to make it so you only rank up for winning as well. And rank down for losing That was the best ranking mechanic ever. And in the Ranked playlist: -no heavy ammo -special ammo spawns every 1 minute -killing a person with special ammo will leave half of that ammo behind to pickup -supers charge only when you get kills This is what would separate Social(the crucible) from Ranked(whatever they wana call it) this would make the community striveee. Everyone would have goals, something to do while waiting for DLCs, and a more clearer reason for tuning in, practicing and getting better at the game They also very badly need to add custom games. This game neeeeds it But sadly ppl wouldnt like these idea and say its too much like halo. I dont see anything wrong with that though. This game is already exactly like halo minus the supers and flying. Play the game from the first mission again and tell me you dont feel like youre using a Spartan. Makes me wana cry that Halo will stay forever dead. (BLAM 343s excuse for a game, that IS NOT halo) just sucks. But oh well What can ya do

4 RespuestasI think you may have missed a major point. Destiny PVP favors those with fully upgraded weapons over those without. same for armor. And the entire style of destiny pvp is designed to instant kill , instant spawn instant death , instant spawn. Which leads to careless crappy play style where players assume far too much risk as there is no game play penalty for death. The shift to PVP with no consequences for player deaths has lead to shitty run and gun play styles. to me the lack of a pure balance along with no motivation to ensure your character does not die makes the whole Destiny PVP a pile of shite.

4 RespuestasHi. I bought the first MMOFPS basically ever. What I really thought I was buying is Halo. It was called Destiny and made very clear it wasn't Halo. This game I bought isn't Halo. Why can't it be Halo? This isn't Halo I don't understand? This games PvP sucks it should be like Halo! Sincerely a concerned customer. Thats your post, I just want you to know.

4 RespuestasKnow what's the most unbalanced part about pvp is? When the opposition team has all red connection. They teleport, you put 2 clips into them and you still somehow die and they still roam around. You kill the guy, but some how they're not dead and he kills you and 3 of your team mates then dies and then you get your points.

Love pvp hate pve plzzz any good kids that play pvp add me peacefulbum im on ps4

4 RespuestasEditado por Ben: 12/3/2014 7:06:34 PMYou may want to include a tl;dr section for those of us who want a quick rundown. Also--and I'm not trying to be mean here, so don't flip out--it's difficult to read your post with all the run-on sentences and stuff, so if you've got nothing to do for ten minutes you might think about cleaning it up a little.
