The hive in the Cosmodrone sometimes spawn a Knight of Crota, kill him and he drops his sword, you then can wreck face with it! Try it out, go on patrol.

Yup! It says that the Hive are preparing a ritual and summons a whole bunch of Hive to fight the Fallen. It also happens on the Moon.

Does have to be in a specific place ? Or anywhere on earth where the hive spawns ?

I just had it happen in the moth yards and the steppes
