This patch just took this game closer to the grave. Why remove the one and only chance people had to get crucible reputation and marks without playing PvP? And now we can buy upgrade materials? Why not hand out every gear and weapon maxed out on a silver plate to the players? I know, sell it to all players for 1 glimmer at all vendors.
I have no problem farming, if you have to do some hardcore grinding to reach some upgrades. I have learned and seen great farming routes on every planet, so it's very easy to do. Also trading materials for rep and marks gave a good amount of EXP, a nice way to boost low level characters in the making. I guess Bungie has to force players into PvP so they don't leave Destiny.
Thanks anyway Bungie for a bad update. Also if there is some time, please fix the glitches and bugs in the Vault of Glass that stops players from achieve flawless raider. All the info must have reached Bungie by now, since players have been reporting the problems since october.

Well just grind Crucible to get your marks and rep. If you're one of those people who constantly get error'd out of PvP matches I can understand your complaint about not being able to earn Crucible rewards outside of PvP. Is that your situation?

I still chest farm when I have patrol bounty or waiting on public events. Old mmorpg player, have no problem farming. This allows, people who hate to farm to buy. If you hate crucible, go into rumble, do things like dance instead of fight, see if you can sneak from one side of map without dying, sit instead of fight, let same person kill you a few times on 3 or 4 time hit him with grenade. It can be a lot of fun if you don't take it serious. My favorite, is seeing who is in last and suiciding to them. Makes game closer and pisses off person who takes PvP way too serious. Win/win. Do it in rumble, no team mates depending on you.

I edited that a bit, it is not the worst update. Some parts are good in the update. If you are sorry for saying I'm the biggest idiot on these forum, don't say it at all ;) But thanks anyway for calling me an idiot, warms my heart.

I'm most after the exp reward, not the reputation or marks since it takes like forever to reach level 3.

I've never had a problem with farming, since I always take the gun I want to level and couple it with bounties, so I won't need to buy materials unless, as others have said, I am just a few short and have nothing to do on that planet. I traded in spin metal once and refused to do it again considering I can loose a few games in a row and earn a bigger amount, more quickly. Sure, it stinks that you can no longer receive Crucible marks w/o playing Crucible. Then again, I only spend those marks when I need shards/energy, I buy to dismantle items. But calling this the 'worst update ever' means you are discrediting all the people that have been pushing [i][u]for this exact update[/u][/i]. I had a chest full of exotics I didn't use because they felt meh; now I'm switching between them just to enjoy them all. And plenty of others agree with me. Expecting every complaint to be immediately updated/fixed is a bit unreasonable. PS - considering what happened the last time they touched the VoG, I'm sure Bungie wants to play-test the f out of any major change they are doing there.

Thank you, and know I wasn't trying to attack you personally. A lot of the people were looking for the same sort of things you're looking for. But with the DLC coming out next week, the people at Bungie want that to go off without a hitch and have probably been focusing all of their effort there. I'm of the mentality that at least they gave us a couple of positive updates this past month, they are showing that feedback is in fact reaching the right people. You can count very few major organizations or businesses in the console video game community that seem to care as much as Bungie. That's why I still back them. They may seem soulless, cuz just about everybody in business does, but just from their track record Bungie is a business made up of gamers, there's always hope.

This guy cracks me up. What should happen is the cost of materials should be higher and the materials should spawn in random spots so you have to actually search all the land to find them but when you do find them give out higher quantity. Hopefully bungie reads this. Running in circles checking the same old spots over and over is not called grinding its call -blam!-ing stupid.

While I disagree with you on the farming bit (its such a waste of time, and I know some great farming spots on every planet). I think its a GREAT idea to be able to buy these items, why should one have to go farming when I only need two or three irons for my Fate, I should be able to buy it without having to fly away from the tower, loading screens etc....but I DO agree that we should be able to still trade in materials that we have farmed for rep (or trade in something else). For those who hardly ever or never do PVP this was the best and only way to rank up and buy weapons you want from them, now they HAVE to do pvp for the marks and rep which is just pathetic! For instance, if you do not have a void fusion the only one you can buy is from the bloody crucible, which is just stupid as having elemental damage makes no difference in the Crucible. All the vendors should update at least once a week with the same weapons, but different elemental damage types, to force a player to do PVP when this game is clearly a PVE with and element of PVP is just stupidity!
