Not bashing you or anything as I also don't really play the crucible but it's my opinion that we should have never been able to exchange a PvE item for crucible points to obtain crucible items. In all fairness the people that enjoy the crucible were already forced to farm materials to upgrade weapons and had no other options. Now that they have an option for materials things are more "fair". I think crucible items should only be obtained through crucible but I also disagree with bungie that the factions only take crucible marks... Should take both currencies.

I couldn't care less about Crucible items. I used the Crucible marks to obtain items from the faction vendors, like Dead Orbit, because for some inexplicable reason they only accept them, and not Vanguard. Factions taking both currencies would solve everything, as you say.

Thank you for using "couldn't." This phrase is so butchered in today's speech. However I also agree with you, I don't see why BG would have a problem with letting both systems exists. If people want to trade mats for Marks and the Marks for mats and vice versa I don't see what the issue is. It isn't like there is a met gain except for rep, and they could have just eliminated the rep gain factor since you can earn faction rep doing vanguard bounties and the like.
