I found this Reddit post today, and it astonished me that a community could be so supportive of a fellow Guardian that has lost something very dear to them. Faith in Humanity restored.
I also read a story about Gearbox (Borderlands) making a NPC in honor of a departed fan, and couldn't help but think that this should also happen in Destiny.
Note: DeeJ, this is not a petition, merely a piece of feedback that would probably make a lot of the community and this redditor's days.
I for one will be wearing a black Dead Orbit Mark today and tomorrow in honor of his passing.
Thank you for your time, and a Titan FoH salute to you all.
RIP BigBilly75
Edit 1: I would like to say thank you for all of your support for this great guardian and his comrades. The suggestions and support have astounded me even more. This is truly a community I can be proud to say I'm a part of.
Edit 2: I didn't actually know Billy. I simply stumbled upon the reddit post, and was deeply moved as to the support he was getting from total strangers. I simply created this post to ensure he, and the many others who have passed that have loved this game, are not forgotten by the community.
Edit 3: Commenting on here is great, and you guys have helped keep this trending all day for the community to see, but commenting on the reddit post would also be nice. The man who originally posted that thread is the one who is truly suffering the most.
Edit 4: To everybody that comes to this thread and posts 'nobody cares': Please don't. He was important because he was part of a huge family known as the Bungie.net community, and part of the #GamerMasterRace. We all known many people die everyday, but not everyday do you get to know someone you never knew, and it affected a lot of us. So please, if you don't care, don't post.
Edit 5: To everyone saying 'why does he need a memorial and not everyone else?': The suggestions that are being posted and I suggested would be for ALL fallen guardians.

5 RespuestasPointless post. Sucks that he died but everybody dies eventually. I don't expect my friends to make some post on here if I kick the bucket. It's life man, the game doesn't need a memorial for one random dude that liked playing this game. Just let it go and have fun playing.
-
I took the time to read the whole redit post and j must say, it was touching. I myself have a friend that I constantly play with. And he happens to be my best friend in real life, we've known each other for 8 years not I believe, and I can't really imagine myself going through this, nor do I want to. It would be nice to have a little something in the game, In remembrance of Big Bill. May he rest In peace.

2 Respuestasall bounties should temporarily be replaced by the melee kill bounty. everybody grab a dead orbit class item & punch all the things in honor of this fallen guardian. FIST RAISED

8 RespuestasRIP to big bill! Bungie should make a guardian hero out of him in the iron banner! Honor this man and make him a true legend. I wouldn't mind putting a memorial in the garden of the tower.

Editado por TKE MFO: 11/30/2014 9:17:16 AMAside from the obligatory "what'd he drop" response...how about you guys stop making bolo ass posts about every goddamn destiny gamer that dies, is sick, or injured. Shits old...and you aren't gaining karma points.

My heart 💀
-
This was cool to read about. My heart goes out to his family.
-
I'm not trying to be insensitive, but I don't want some morbid reminder in my past time, that some guy had died. I don't play video games to mourn the loss of real people, I play them to take a break from the real world and it's problems. I don't want to be reminded that terrible things happen to people. I want to think about Atheon and what Croats End will bring. I want to think about the traveler and where the -blam!- it came from. I want to think about winning my next crucible match. I do not want to be dragged down by the gloomy reminder from some statue in the tower. People die. Let his friends and family honor him and mourn him. We are just a bunch of internet assholes he probably didn't like much anyways, minus a very small group of his friends.

18 RespuestasEditado por Lordsa Jar-Jar: 11/29/2014 11:47:55 PMI'm sorry, but I got to agree with Fury, I mean hundreds of thousands of people die every day, what makes this one so different? Was he a hero? Did he Sacrifice himself to save many lives? Because if he did then by all means he deserves much more then this. Yes it is sad to lose someone close to you, but why tell us, why make this post?
-
This is vary sad. But makes me fill better in a way.
-
5 Respuestasim deeply saddened his last game had to be this repetitive garbage game that was cut up before launch for the story to be sold for more $$..he truly did deserve to know the actual story behind this game, but now never will thanks to Bungie's money grab schemes. R.I.P. and may heaven be filled with alot better games then this trash.

14 RespuestasFor those people who say they don't care: What if you had a girlfriend. You are in love with her. She makes you happy. You propose to her and she says yes. The next day she gets run over by a truck...then would you understand?!
-
7 RespuestasI hate to be blunt here but I'm sure there are other people who enjoyed this game that have died, and they don't get special recognition, how is that fair to them? Just because they weren't talked about on the forums and their story isn't well known, they don't get anything? Prayers out to the people effected by this but that's all that should be given. No in game special treatment.
-
I too will wear the dead orbit compassion is never a bad thing.

R.I.P Big Billy.

Reading that made me sad.. :( rip big billy

The person who was friends with him should access his account play Destiny for him so his legend can still grow even when gone. R.I.P BigBilly75

Prayers out to the family during this tough time. I'm sure he was a great person and had a great life being surrounded by good people like yourself.
