I skip all adds that aren't a part of the strike like the hive and fallen in the rocketyards on devils lair. You get nothing for killing those and the endlessly spawn. Why waste time trying to eliminate them all? But that being said, I try and kill everything once I'm in the darkness zone with the level appropriate enemies.
