I feel the exotic primary weapons should all have the ability to deal arc/void/solar damage!
I don't think they stand out enough, in terms of performance, from a lot of the legendary weapons. In fact compared to the 'Raid Weapons' obtainable from the raid they can fall short!
What do people think?

I like that we are forced, in a way, to explore other guns. We use our primary all day in PvE. I've come to really like fusion rifles while the burn is in effect. Badassery at it's finest. Lol

Since they are supposed to be high tier legendaries, they have non rolled, but standard ablities that go well together and elemental damage. Without the elemental, you could theorectically roll a gun just as good, so the elemental puts them over the top to make sure they are really top tier. If you give exotics the same ability, then they lose some of the appeal, IMO. Exotics should be high tier legendary in every other stat, good impact, range, what have you, but their special "exotic" ability that no other gun has should make them the best in whatever range their exotic perk excels at. Rigjht now that isn't the case, too many exotics are built off the wrong platform, that's the key issue. Take away their special ability and they would be shitty legendaries, the ability doesn't save them in that case. SGA has too much recoil to be effective and is based off the nerf gun super fast shooting machine guns that most people don't like. It should be more like corrective measure with decent stats in most categories, perhaps a bit less stability, but more impact. Then it's ability would be good, especially if they added rounds to the magazine on kill, along with extra damage on kill. Thorn only has 6 shots, that's too low for any good legendary, most people really prefer the 10+ shot hand cannons. Even 8 shots with a better reload would do a world of good. Bad juju, again based on a low impact platform. That's why red death, which is high impact out performs it.

3 RespuestasI've been kind of disappointed in exotics in general. I have 11 exotic weapons and really only two of them are that good (GJallahorn and Icebreaker). Some are laughably bad like Thorn, but most are just kind of mediocre like Truth. I see absolutely no reason to use Truth over any legendary rocket launcher that has tracking. Something like Bad Juju has a ton of potential, but it is mostly a trash sweeper, once you fight things that take more then 15 rounds to kill, it completely looses its effectiveness. So once the heroic or epic modifier are on, it becomes just an unwieldy pulse rifle. (Disclaimer: I generally only play PvE, so keep in mind that I'm writing this from that perspective. I'm well aware of the fact that Bungie is PvP focused, so those two guns might be great in PvP but that does me no good.)

Fully agree. Hope they do it make exotic primaries truly exotic like the raid weapons. Makes sense.

They be able to roll for a different element, so u can have or try to have 3 of the same guns but with different element.
