Response to: "How can you still be having fun with this game?!"
So many people post these threads asking, or more accurately judging, people about how they can possibly enjoy "such a worthless shell of a game." To all of these people I say... you're doing it wrong.
How I have fun:
1. I raid and strike and pvp extensively with clanmates. We swap stories, we laugh at each other, and we have fun friendly competition to see who can perform the best on any given activity.
2. I troll my friends. We troll each other. We shoulder charge each other off ledges and platforms in the raid. When one of us is talking to the cryptarch, the others of us are pushing him to a completely different part of the tower, like in a dark corner in the hangar. Then we all run away and wait and watch to see him come out of the menu and have no fricken clue where he is. Then we laugh hysterically. When one guy activates his bladedancer super, we all start shooting anything close to him with heavy ammo so he can't kill anything. He calls us douches, we all laugh, then we take another sip of our beer and chive on. (EDIT: We don't do this all the time. Only when the time is right and it's undeniably necessary.)
3. We race our sparrows to the conflux checkpoint. And we try to push each other off the edges when we can.
4. I try to collect all the exotic weapons in the game (just need two now) AND completely max them all out. Part of the fun of having an exotic weapon is finding out its niche, the specific situations and circumstances in which it shines. For example, I would never switch my Plan C over to my warlock or hunter. It fits PERFECTLY with how I play the Titan class. I spend most of my time in strikes and crucible matches with my titan flashing red because I play so close to the fray. That being said, having an "OH CRAP" weapon at the ready is fantastic and makes it so I frequently look down at the gun and smile because it just saved my life.
5. I don't worry about level 30. I'm lucky enough to have a level 30 warlock, but my titan and hunter are stuck at 29 til I get the right drops. But I play the raid for the fun of it with my clanmates and randos asking for help on the forums. I'm in it for the fun and the experience, not the armor. Getting good drops is a bonus.
6. I try to level up my faction as often as possible. That means collecting a handful of bounties and hitting the pvp or pve arenas where I can complete them. Bounties force me to play a specific way until I complete them. Then I turn everything in and if my New Monarchy levels up, then I love getting new shaders and seeing what rolls I get on New Monarchy legendary items rewarded to me. I just got a sick variant of the New Monarchy shotgun Judgment today that has fully auto and random high damage shell/mag perks. I LOVE it. This is coming from a guy who hates shotty's.
All in all, this is all just to say that people enjoy what they enjoy. No one is better than someone else just because their standards for fun are different. Some people adore final fantasy. You know what, I hate it. Looks cool, plays out very BORINGly. But that's just for my tastes. I don't look down on anyone who enjoys it, because a LOT of people do. Good for them. But you know where you WON'T find me? That's right... the Finaly Fantasy forums. Just saying.
EDIT: Let me be clear. People are saying that I'm not having fun with the game, I'm just having fun with friends. I kinda think that argument is silly. First, I find the game even alone to be fantastically fun. Secondly, I said shooting aliens together is fun. I didn't say, "Together is fun."

To all those people saying this game is DEAD, well it is nowhere near. Have you seen the statistics? It obviously isn't bad if people keep playing it. There are many big games along the way but I am sure Destiny will be in the top and a lot of youtubers are still playing Destiny and everyone is really excited for The Dark Below DLC which will keep people playing. Some people don't like this game and are complaining about it. Look at Call of Duty, it has a lot of haters but is still one of the best selling games ever.

Great post, TrueVanguard. Destiny is meant to be played with friends. That's where the real fun is found. I often play with a buddy of mine (when he isn't suffering through connection issues). The game is better with someone to fight alongside and joke around with.

6 RespuestasI had fun, but I can only do the same thing over and over again so many times before I get bored. I've sunk over 400 hours into destiny, and that's my limit. I have half the exotics in the game a lvl 30 warlock, 29 titan, and 29 hunter. I'm done unto the DLC hit, but I expect to blaze through that so I can finish play halo and smash.

The people who claim not to have fun.. yet probably pump hours and hours into it are just full of sh*t :) its human nature to complain when something ( especially nowadays ) doesn't go the way they planned. You won't here these same people hop on after a great Raid and proclaim how much fun it was.. I guarantee you that.. only when its lacking in some degree. Calm your tits people, it has its faults.. but it also has its victories. :)

Hence why the division and rainbow six are games I can't wait for. I also like the channlenge that pvp brings. I don't always get to top three and that's great. Unlike COD where it's a given that I always make top three. (tho haven't played it since WOW) Probably cause COD is really "Children Online Daycare".

Im just kind of a completionist. I dont plan on getting all of the achievements like flawless raiding and clan raiding and some pvp stuff, but I plan on getting as many exotic weapons as I can, and getting all classes to lvl 30 and I have already maxed out EVERY subclass.

Not going to lie, I have definitely burned out on this game. Sure, you can have fun with friends doing random stuff and trust me I do the same type of things. Hell, one of the most enjoyable things about online gaming is just being in a party with my friends even if we're in separate games just BSing. The company is what makes it fun. That being said... if that's what you require to do to have fun then you could literally enjoy any other game as well. Having a level 30, 28 and 27 who are only lower levels due to bad RNG luck with getting raid gear, and having played since beta and so many weeks of doing daily heroics every day, and nightfalls/weekly heroics every week across 3 characters, and doing the raid for all of them and hard mode for the 30, week after week.. well it gets to the point where it's too old. I think that's plenty understandable too, I mean the missions aren't that great, they're the same thing over and over again, I've done literally every mission at least 10 times and the popular ones and strikes well over that amount and the fact that it's the same exact thing time and time again doesn't help the replay value. If you're the type who can stand logging hours and hours doing the same exact content time and time again for weeks, then hell, more power to you, I bet you save a lot of money on games. Personally I require a bit more out of my games to keep my attention. Can't wait for the DLCs though, and will likely be more active this month in order to prep my guys for the DLC content.
