I want some kind of official opinion on this kind of practice. I am currently doing the exotic bounty for Bad Juju on the off chance that when it is buffed it becomes a good gun. So of course I have been doing the complete 25 strikes part of it.
I have done 7 in a row so far and 6 of those 7 some guy runs past every single enemy that he can and waits at the next checkpoint while the other guy and me are stuck killing everything along the way. I have no problem killing everything. At this point the level 24 adds are like tissue paper. What gets me is the fact that the idiots running ahead are not actually taking part in the strike that they themselves queued for. They are simply sprinting past everything and avoiding any real gameplay unless they have no choice.
Why should other people or myself have to carry these guys through the strike simply because they are too lazy and impatient to actually do their part? You have stated on many occasions that thi sis meant to be a team game and yet these people are in no way taking part in the team strike unless they positively have to. One of the guys that ran ahead finished with 8 kills. Meanwhile I finished with over 100 kills. Then on the boss fight the guy simply went afk and made the random I was with and myself finish off Phogoth on our own. Once again its not a question of difficulty its a question of principle. I queue for strikes because I enjoy playing the game as well as earning all the rewards that come along with it. I don't want to have to carry people who don't even participate in the strike itself.
Why should this guy get all of the marks, rep, and rewards at the end when he in no way took part in the strike itself?
You guys HAVE to know that this is going on. Either make it to where people can be kicked or make it to where you have to wipe the entire strike before it can be completed.
I am done helping the people that do this. I will either leave and let them finish it themselves or do my best to make sure the strike takes as long as possible. I am not gonna go out of my way to avoid playing the game that I paid for. I get running past low level adds that are in transition areas, but running past enemies that are leveled to the strike itself is just lazy.

I pretty much agree that how people choose to approach the strike it's up to them. But with that said my personal preference is to use a weapon I'm trying to level up and use my time in that strike to kill everything I can since I'm there. I have also had numerous purple engrams drop from AIs prior to the darkness zones in strikes. I play this game to shoot $h1t, and where ever I am, whichever mode, there is my chance to get my fix. So yeah I'm plus one for taking it all in rather than racing to the darkness!

The only reason i play strikes is for vanguard rank and points as well as rng drops ....i have no patience any more for killing every stupid bot i see along the way....if i can run past so could you but you choose to not do it....i do however return if i see a player struggling to get past last word every last one.....
-
If you actually follow him the strike progresses and you can skip the adds
-
After doing every strike countless off times, I can understand a lot of people want to do them as fast as possible.....

1 RespuestaEditado por Rusty Thermos: 11/9/2014 9:07:21 PMI run by everything I can and start working on the stuff that matters. If you dink around killing things you dont have to, then you are wasting time.
-
if you wanna grind just go play patrol. there are endless enemies, more places to explore, loot chest and mats you can farm while youre at it, and missios you can do at the same time. it doesnt make sense to grind in strikes when you miss out on everything that i mentioned
-
Hmm do I want to kill everything not in a Darkness Zone or actually kill things pertaining to the strike I joined.
-
1 RespuestaPeople who run ahead are trying to complete the strike as fast as possible. I don't think you could say you're carrying these people because you're not making it possible for them to get farther in the strike, they're already past where you're at and waiting on you to catch up. Killing every enemy in a strike is a waste of time, if you need to complete that bounty you should try running the strikes faster too. I'm not trying to be a turd, I'm just trying to point out that a game that requires grinding for gear rewards you quicker the more efficient you are at playing the game.
-
Why waste precious time killing stuffs when you can get done faster and do something else? I ran nexus for ju ju and i sure as hell didnt stop for anything past the first room with the 3 big shitheads to kill.
-
1 RespuestaWhy do you care how other people play? Leave them alone, they paid 60$ for the game, so they can play it however they want.
-
Editado por Silly Sod: 11/9/2014 6:13:15 PMI had two guys on the nexus just sniping the boss (they did not even make a dent in it) I killed all the vex and the boss on my own they then jumped down and danced. I just melleed them in the face for the full count down. Over 100 kills for me about 20 each for them. I just don't get their logic . - the fight would have been over in half the time and they could have got revived anyway.
-
1 RespuestaIsn't it like common practice to rush all dungeon esque parts of games in all mmos? The reward is for completing if there is pointless adds that slow you down avoid them and carry on. Unless you can't help but play the engram game I'll do either but speed running is fine by me.
-
Theres no point to killing enemies you dont have to.I just want my marks.I always help with the boss though.

8 RespuestasA strike is a mission performed by a small kill team of highly trained operatives inserted into a combat zone to accomplish an objective. Its not a place for lollygagging wimps who wanna smell the roses along the way. Get in, get it done, move on to the next target.
-
I bet he's wondering why people like the OP cry about such useless shit.
-
Better than them going afk for the whole thing at least they are trying to complete it
-
Then why dont you just run past the meningless minions yourself? If everyone did that the boring strike would go faster
-
Well I mean, I run past all the little bull shit enemies that you don't have to kill to the next checkpoint that is actually required to beat the strike. Like in the cabal one, I run right through the iron line to the lieutenants you have to kill, because fighting those pricks is a waste of time.

Editado por titan4life: 11/9/2014 5:58:37 PMI think that the strikes should award stuff based on damage done by a player, at least in the darkness zones and boss fights. Can't tell you how many times someone sat in a corner in a dark zone/boss fight while me and the other guy did all the work. If you didn't do enough damage to enemies to get a reward, you don't get a reward, simple as that.

Editado por Anbu Hunter: 11/9/2014 6:00:03 PMDo the weekly solo it's worth 2 strikes and I think nightfall is worth 5 strikes. I would prefer an option to do strike solo. So we can put an end to these kind of post. People like these just need to play the game by themselves. I get it some AFK, some rush, and the rest of the pious hipster babies just whine. It's multiplayer, accept the fact that there will be times where people want to play it their own way. Be it good or bad, it just come with the territory. Go solo so you can bask in your righteous playing style and you can admire your own fortitude to playing the game your way!!

I run ahead to finish the tiger strikes. But a lord may do as he will.
-
Sometimes I fight the lower level mobs before the no spawn zones. This is when I need to level up. The rest of the time I just run through because really I just want the engrams. #TIGER
-
I like to fight on Tiger strikes; that's why I play them. But if I need to complete a bounty, I do the lowest level possible so I can just go fast. It seems like an agreeable tactic with most people I get matched with.
-
Some people run ahead to get the job done, that's what I do with my friends, but when playing with randoms, unless they run ahead, I'll stay and kill with them
-
2 RespuestasJust answer me this. When playing mario bros, do you kill every goomba and koopa? Same difference. The goal is get to the boss, beat him, move on to the next one.
