Just calling it, if you go into the summoning pits and look out into the skybox just beyond Phogoth you'll see a giant round opening surrounded by webs, not unlike the den of a funnel web spider. Below in the chasm are more webs, then we have the leaked raid gear with a set of helmets featuring multiple glowing eyes that resemble spider eyes.
Logical conclusion, we're getting a giant arachnid boss.

Ohhhhb heeeeelllllllll nawwwwwww I ain't killing no giant spider boss nuhh uhh
-
5 RespuestasAs long as Crotas not just a giant Knight then I'm okay.

5 RespuestasBut no hive resembles a spider. The fallen have spider like bosses but not the hive.

-
The spider will probably be modeled after the walker tank.
-
And if we jump on it we will be able to squish it... Until it gets patched.

Nice observations.

I thought Crota was a dragon
-
1 RespuestaYeah don't bother getting out that sniper rifle you have on your secondary to get a closer look
-
YES YES and YES! If there is a spider boss I don't want another Templar that's just waiting for you there, I want him to come down from above (but silently) and sneak up on the FireTeam. Add some type of scare factor for when people first attempt the raid, it will be epic!
-
Mini Spiders will form Crota, which is a bigger spider that is one half of a double spider that turns into a centipede.
-
3 RespuestasI kinda hope not. Spiders scare me in the real world... Alien spider.. Blech..
-
But you see, they're not actually spiders, otherwise I would throw my controller at the screen and light on fire....as well as my house

1 Respuestajust maby....

2 RespuestasThose webs might be a part of the Hive transformation process. I know at the beginning of one mission (I think its the Library one but I'm not sure) you go down a spiral sort of staircase and down the center is a huge pillar. On that pillar were these pod things that were held up with webbing. The pods look alive, and I get the feeling they're either what Hive are born from or what creatures go into to become Hive. Since those webs were in the Summoning Pits, I'm gonna guess that they're for similar pods. Thats just my guess.

Dam it, i can squish little spiders, but there is just something about big ones (maybe it is all the giant eyes, and hair). I hated them in skyrim too. I will kill that thing with extreme prejudice.
-
Well the fallen do have a spider tank

2 Respuestas...giant...sp...spi...spiders? .... Oh hell no! I'm taking my ghost back to the speaker, I didn't sign up for this shit!!! (P.S. I hate spiders. All aboard the nope train, next stop gtfo!)

9 RespuestasEditado por Shifty F Powers: 10/27/2014 5:08:49 PMI don't really care what the boss is as long as: 1) it's not a giant reskinned version of already in game enemies 2) they flesh the story out a bit. VoG has a cool story, but it's not in the game 3) there are some creepy dark rooms like the first mission where you fight the thralls
-
Yeah I remember seeing those webs the first time I did summoning pits and thinking the boss would be a spider.

3 RespuestasStephen hawking is the OP final boss

7 RespuestasOooooh, like a bone-spider that is skinned with armor similar to Thralls? That would be pretty awesome looking for a first boss. As for attacks, it would be very agile and venomous, and it scuttles across a large cavern with poisonous fangs so we don't know where it strikes next, and every so often he lobs a thing of goo at you that reduces movement speed. Littering the cavern would be a bunch of eggs, and Thralls pour out of the eggs and rush you throughout the fight. I'd say that would be a pretty fun fight, gives you the feels of being cornered within the cave and there is nowhere safe to run/hide until the boss is downed.
-
Good theory. It does all have a spider vibe in certain spots. So maybe Crota is a spider? Maybe not but either way it's possible. (It's just gonna be funny to see a giant Crota boss and wonder how he wielded the guardian-sized Sword of Crota. lolololol
