Destiny. Rich story line?
We all here have had our moments to love and hate bungie for what they have done in the past and present. Most everyone voting will have had the chance to play destiny's story line. Love it or hate it, comment below!

Their plan is a 10 year story what they failed to do was make the story long enough to give you enough of it during each game to make them worth 60 dollies I'm still playing the game since very thing take forever to get. And I don't have the money ATM to buy a different one other wise I would have ditched this until a later date I would have just waited for price drop if I knew this was going to happen.

However, when I come back to this topic later, the poll results show something COMPLETELY different (both the top and bottom answers having the most votes). However, if I then click any option on the poll again, it shows the middle option (my initial choice) as having the most votes. Is anyone else seeing this? Or am I crazy?

Clearly the story of Destiny is about an army of space fairing undead and rebooted war machines mercilessly slaughtering every other sentient species in the solar system to restore their silent god through whom they are imbued with unnatural powers of unmatched destruction. You just don't get the story because the good guys are on the other side. We're like the bad guys from the other Halo games (the Covenant) dropping in on foreign worlds, attempting borderline genocide of the indigenous species with no diplomatic agenda. The bad guys don't get the whole story.

2 RespuestasStory? What story? We're given goals with little to no actual explanation as to what and why we're doing it. What are the enemies of the game and who are they really? We're never really given any kind of real instruction on that in the game. They're there and in the way, their for they are the enemy. Note, the grimoire system doesn't count. It's nether in the game nor accessible by the game other than popping an alert to the external system. As a comparison I'd like to point out the sound byte memory system in Alice: Madness Returns. It serves the same function in all respects and is accessible in the game.

As soon as you hit the reef and you start to think the story is starting, a few missions later its over. Yawn. I want the strangers armour too.

I've got to say I am pretty disappointed with the lack of a single player story mode. Unless this is rectified in the two DLC packages that I already paid for by pre-ordering the premium edition of the game, I doubt I will ever purchase another Bungie product. Let me state it clearly lore cards are not a story. Lore cards are to a video game story what a history book is to an action movie. The open world concept was likely scrapped in order to accommodate PS3 and 360 releases that could render the environment.

Ok. Yes, the story while you play sucks @ss. I cant even call it a story. But the backstory is pretty good. I like the backstory, what happened before, how it happened. I like it. But the story that happens because of you, while you are playing, is severely lacking. And theres not much Bungie can do about it.

2 RespuestasOver 100+ hour of gameplay and i have yet to complete the given story missions. So far there is not much either and has not made me feel the need to hurry up and complete it. I should feel compelled to work on side quests. The main story should be engrossing. I should have to try a mission, only to realize that I need better gear just to survive. I should have to track down hints for ways to beat a level by talking to someone or doing a quest/bounty. Make me feel like I really want to see more of the story.

I believe they gutted the story so they didn't have to pay Joseph Staten (bungies old lead writer) for his work on what was supposed to be a great story! he was the cinematic director too if I'm not mistaken

5 RespuestasI've played the story a few times now, each time picking up on bits I missed first time round, along with forum theories and my own I think it's great. The issue isn't the story it's the fact people want it explaining through cut scenes instead of digging into the lore and actually seeing what's happening around them
