To all the babies crying about Atheon "exploit"
I am so tired of hearing you babies cry about the "exploit" of pushing atheon off. It is NOT an exploit. Just because somebody was smart enough to think outside the box it is an exploit? Not hardly. Many critically acclaimed and loved games have moments where if you think outside the box you can easily pass an otherwise more difficult encounter. Ff7 for instance has an undead boss that can be one shotted if you use an item on it that is intended to revive a player. Is this an exploit? No, it is just critical thinking. During VoG before the templar you have to down fanatics and upon death they drop an aoe. When you see this do you stand in it? No, you avoid the green shit. Why should atheon be any different? Raid mechanics generally call for you to avoid standing in aoe so it is only critical thinking to try this on atheon. Basically just because somebody thinks of a clever way to do something doesn't mean it's an exploit. I'm sure I will get flamed into oblivion for this post but I don't care because it needed to be said. Keep crying guardians and have a nice day. Git Gud.

Okay, put the Exploit back in, it is an Exploit. That is not how the encounter was intended to work. It is not "thinking outside the box". It is exploiting a flaw in the games AI pathing. But back to what I was saying, put it back in. Just don't allow atheon to not drop ANYTHING! Period. You want to be rewarded for beating a hard boss(who really isn't that hard to begin with) with a cheap shot? Also, using a Phoenix Down on an undead in any final Fantasy game was a game mechanic, not an Exploit, not "thinking outside the box"

I agree. :) The only real exploit is giving other people a checkpoint so they can skip the other parts of the raid to get the good rewards haha

We only cry because awful players tend to either steal Atheon checkpoints and then simply sit their while some random warlock cheeses Atheon giving them loot which some of us worked SO HARD to actually by completing it legitimately. Try to think of it from the other peoples perspective. How would you feel working your butt off 5 years in college to be a doctor to then come out and have a job opportunity as a doctor taken by some random who did nothing to earn that spot. But has contacts (the exploit) within that field so gets it anyway.

wow well said buddy i dont have an opinion weather its good or bad, but i am tired of people bitching. if it was en exploit then there would be something not intended to be in that game coming to it (ie spawn glitching or hacking)

Perhaps is because my friends and I are capable of beating the Hard mode raid the NEW way that Bungie insists on when at first they said they wanted us to think outside the box but whatever. More pissed that i beat the Hard Mode raid twice yesterday and I'm continuing to get the -blam!-ING TIMEBREAKER.....I HAVE FIVE -blam!-ING TIMEBREAKERS .....LIKE WHAT THE -blam!-

1 RespuestaDelta Zebra, the meaning of Exploit (make use of a situation in a way considered unfair) says it all. Yes it is an exploit, you are taking advantage in an unfair way to cheat the phase to gain its rewards. Don't get me wrong if i am in a raid and someone wants to make my life easier sure have a go at it, i will not complain. Just thought i'd let you know your topic was pointless. =)

1 RespuestaEgh I've seen it in action my first raid. I joined these level 30 dudes when I was 27 and they walked me through it. It's a neat trick but I've always wanted to see what it's like to fight the thing the way it's intended. I have only done the raid once

2 RespuestasI just can't wait to see how Destiny LFG will be after they fix this with a patch, it will be so much better. Right now it is extremely saturated with people looking to cheese Atheon. Kinda sad. Not saying I haven't done it, I've done it legit and with the exploit on hard mode, but it is getting out of hand. I see why Bungie nerfed the mythoclast. Too many people cheesing atheon and not even doing the rest of the raid(which is the hardest part) and getting the gun. If this exploit did not exist many people would not have this gun.

It is an exploit...you think bungie really intended for the last boss in the raid to be pushed off?...it's called an exploit because it's something they weren't expecting and should be fixed. That's not what I would call a "tactic" more of a cop out.

Ive been thinking about it a lot since the hotfix. The platform fix? I can understand, but if its an unplayable area, dont spawn snipers on there as if to say "hey! Look its a platform!" And draw attention to it. Or the other option would be allow platform use on normal, and remove it on hard mode. Likewise with aetheon. Easy mode, he will simply back up and fall off (it still takes skill, and teamwork) while hard mode aetheon gets teleport. Not too hard, and i think anyone doing hard mode will understand that its hard mode for a reason. The vex nerf...im torn. Personally i think it should not have been nerfed. If its the best gun in the game, you should be able to roll through any pve mission laughing all the way. The pvp aspect is different. I think that all weapons should have equal scaling damage output in pvp, and if its the iron banner, or a mode that takes your gear, and weapons into account, well you know what, if your getting wrecked constantly by a dude in pvp because hes got the vex, well then take your but out of pvp and go find yourself a raid group. Until i was able to get into the raid, i was cursing this games obvious favoritism to the pvpers left and right, thankfully the queens missions alleviated a lot of that gripe, but it remains a little because us pvers just had the best gun in the game nerfed drastically because some pvpers were tired of getting spanked. I will end with this. Last night was supposed to be our clans raid night. Look forward to it every week, but we didnt run the raid last night. Why? We simply did not feel like it, and the reward at the end is no longer enough to get everyone to stay comitted.

Agreed. . . If your able to fall of the edge of the map, then why can't you use that to your advantage to knock the enemy off. I've done that in other games I've played. . . For intense, you can knock enemies off the edge in Darksiders 2 of they get to close to it
