I'm a feminist
What do people have against feminism? Why would anyone say they aren't a feminist, or further, are anti feminist?!
Feminism is the forwarding of women's rights in order to gain equality. That is the definition. I don't care if some moron said to kill all men, that's not feminism.
[b]EDIT[/b]: I came across this comic which outlines a few of the aims of a contemporary feminist. I don't agree with all of it, but it's worth a look if you're sceptical, surely one of the points they make must ring true.

The idea of "women are harmed by men and are lower in social class" may be apparent, but feminism is the equality of both genders, all races, and wrongly labeled as equality for 'women only and THEM only'. It's a term of peace and equality yes but for a whole group not completely gender related. The people who support 'no bras because they are sexist' or 'bodily hair to be unshaven' are of a different support. I am in no way against the fact of these things, but I take it as hygiene, men shave areas of their body (not all) but to keep in check as do women. Bras are a nice decency to have and are there to support and keep up the weight so it doesn't move around all over. In summary, yes feminism is fighting for THEIR RIGHTS but is also fighting for universal peace and acceptance."

I think feminism (total equality) is a good thing. Femanazis (inequality) gives the term a bad reputation.

My problem with feminism is the same problem I have with communism. On paper it's a fantastic idea. However it never plays out that way in the long run. All animals are equal, some are just more equal than others. That being said I have a lot of respect for women that want equality but they're few and far between. Most feminists I've seen want to be the more equal members of society.

Feminism is dumb. The fastest way to start a disagreement is to create a group opposing people. Should we not be fighting for just human rights? Because that would make a lot more sense.
