I feel like one of the best elements of game design is to closely tie together the story you're trying to tell with the mechanics your players are using to interact with the game world. Does anybody else get completely taken out of the game when you have to spend hours picking flowers on Venus to make your armor better? There's got to be a way to gather resources that I'm not understanding that falls more in line with the "shoot aliens in the face" theme of the game.

3 RespuestasResource gathering is a standard part of any MMO type game. I know destiny is not a full MMO but it pulls a lot of its elements from that genre. Loot grind/spec differentiation/resource gathering would be some of those items. Again it's reward based, and truthfully and very substantial increase on power for generally simple tasks, as far as MMOs go. That said, there are multiple YouTube videos for each resource type and planet that run you through getting 100+ resources per hour, with consistent spawns. Also, gathering while shooting lowbies in the face grants a significant, when compared to other MMOs where the chance is 0, chance to drop rare or epic loot that can be useful. Granted you will not get these items every time, but he public events spawns that also have a high chance of dropping 1 ascendant material per also make resource grinding in Destiny a vast improvement over other MMO style games.

21 RespuestasYou can always do chest runs instead of gathering but I don't think it's immersion breaking really.
