I already explained how disappointing the game is, so I'm not going to reiterate myself. But now, I am not playing Destiny because I am having fun, I play it because I truly hope bungie will make it better. But so far, I don't know what is happening with the company I loved.
They seem to have lost their creative direction. Very poor decisions were made and there was a lack of clear communication during the players and the company. It's hard to see such a jarring shift between halo's epicness and Destiny's mediocrity.
I have not beaten the raid yet, I almost did. But even if I did, what's the point? To get better armor? For what, crucible, where kills depend on lag rather than equipment and skill? And from what I keep hearing, the story was originally going to be much much different....much cooler. But that was cut because it was too good. What happened to you guys?
I mean...you have to be asking yourselves "what the -blam!- have we done with this game...." right? Or do you only care about squeezing as many pennies out of us as you can at the cost of producing quality games? I can't do it anymore. I can't handle the deception, the misleading promises, the nerfed content...Destiny feels like a free-to-play game. It's incomplete....until we purchased the dlc. If you cared about giving the players what they deserve, you would make ALL of that DLC free. No this is not satire, it is not a troll. We deserve the rest of the game. If you truly love your community, you would twist activision's arms until they broke and let you give us our game.
You would also beg Marty and Joe Staten to return and fire the asshole who came up with the grimoire system. Hire more writers, perhaps some of us in the community could take over. I'm being serious, There are those of us who are brimming with ideas for story direction. I don't know what sort of drama is happening at Bungie studios, but get your shit together. I will continue to be a loyal bungie fan.....But Destiny is losing me. I am at the point where I often ask myself "why am I playing this?!?"
The next step is to set it aside and wait for the day you finally get your shit together.
EDIT: To clarify, I am not going to be leaving the forums. I love this community. So for those of you who dislike my presence, tough.

I agree, long face. After I complete my bounties for the day and the raid for the week I'm often left sitting in the tower with my pals asking "Ummmmm what now?" And I tried to make an alt character but I can't stomach the dry campaign a second time.

4 RespuestasEditado por ZetaScorpii: 10/9/2014 5:21:51 PMThis game has a very solid foundation and anyone who plays it and has common sense can see that Bungie is pouring their heart and soul into it. Could it be better? Sure, but what I consider "better", someone else might consider garbage. This game is about carving your own path and creating your own "Legend". I'm happy with what we have so far and am looking forward to spending many years enjoying what's to come.

2 RespuestasWith you man... I play destiny just to keep up with my friends... That's basically the only reason atm. I'm just putting all my hopes for a good addicting game on the "the division" or " dying light " or " dead island 2" even " ac unity"

Just because someone played this game for a certain amount of hours doesnt mean they enjoyed every minute of it guys, its called trying to get your moneys worth. If you payed alot of money for a meal yet felt unsatisfied with it and they told you that they wouldnt refund you... would you simply not eat it or would try and get your moneys worth by finishing it? and after finishing it how would you feel if some dumbasses told you that you had no right to complain about its quality because you ate it? Wake up people and get a grip... the gameplay is solid the story is almost non existent and the content is a repetitive grindfest... all of you defending this game will one day soon join us... its only a matter of time. "one of us, one of us "

2 RespuestasYou mention issues about creative direction, the story, and making the game "better" (in what way?), and then you propose an idea of making the DLC free to solve all of this because without it the game is "incomplete". Are you expecting the DLC to have one big whopping story that will "complete" the full game? Are you expecting such a large impact that will make this game "complete"? What entitles you to have it for free? Because you're unhappy about something? What have players done to deserve anything? Reality check please. I personally haven't seen much about what is in the DLC, perhaps you have, but based on the few mission placeholders and the summaries of the DLC, I don't think you are going to get what you think you are getting. My guess is that this will be a couple of side stories that will interweave with the main plot but can be skipped from a story perspective. There is also a planned "comet" next year that will most likely expand on the main story, so this DLC can't resolve everything. I bet I can come back here in 2-3 months after the DLC release and hear the same complaints about an "incomplete" game and that the DLC didn't address any of the "issues".

Honestly, I don't know you, and I don't want to read your goodbye letter. Because I don't care.

Aw, why the long face, bud? :(

It's just winter it happens every year!

You only paid 60$ for it... To put that into perspective you will pay 60$ the next time you go to dinner and you just turned that into a turd. This game has been wicked fun and worth the 60$. If it gets better in the near future that will be even more awesome. Gamers these days always expect more but they don't want to pay for it. We have paid 60$ for games for years if you want more from a game we will have to pay more. If you get a month of entertainment from destiny it's money well spent.

All of you, "destiny fanboys" , use your damn brain and tell me, do you really...no, REALLY belive that in ten years there still be people who will play Destiny? Will you play Destiny in 10 years?

6 RespuestasYou cant be that disappointed with it, you do have about 79 hours worth of game time logged.

24 RespuestasEditado por TrueVanguard: 10/9/2014 1:58:40 PMSorry longface, but our experiences in this game must be very different. For my $60, this game has been WAAAAAAY more entertaining than bf4 and Watchdogs, both hyped titles that flopped for me. In terms of developer involvement, Watchdogs was the epitome of negligence. This game, on the other hand, is a dynamic social and solo experience that keeps me hooked each time I turn the ps4 on. My friends list has tripled since launch. I've been through the raid a dozen times now, and I've even been totally screwed loot but the vault is just too dang fun so I don't rage about it.

I think Bungie might be "hanging out" with DICE. :/

Have to agree. I've played this game for a while (level 26 Warlock); so I've definitely spent some time with it. Also, I am an avid RPG fan. I loved Borderlands 1 & 2. I thought Destiny would be a step forward from those excellent games; instead it's several steps backwards. Personally, I don't see how they can set this right without major changes to the game. There seems to be no framework for story-telling apart from cut-scenes after missions. No in-mission dialog except for meaningless ramblings from the Ghost. The combat is excellent; but that only takes you so far. Playing the same map over and over again just to build up marks and gain upgrade materials which, in the end, seem to make very little difference, is tedious and mind-numbing. The cooperative play is OK, but frankly, I think that Mass Effect 3 multiplayer is better. Sure, the maps are smaller; but there a far more of them. And the diversity of characters in ME3 and and their abilities in any given match make each experience unique. My basic sense of Destiny is that the developers came up with a set of maps and combat mechanics and then threw together a story to try and tie them all together. I.e., they put the cart before the horse. My guess is that, sadly, future DLC will be nothing but more maps with maybe a couple new bosses and possibly new weapon types. Nothing to compel me to play any more. I think any story enhancements will just be more of the same jumbled mess meant to simply move you from one map to the next. One good thing I will say about Destiny, it gave me an excuse to get an XBox One. Now I just need a game that's worth playing on it. I think Shadow of Mordor may be it. It's certainly NOT Destiny.

This post I can relate to. I really am not playing for fun, but like long face said, I feel like I'm playing destiny in hopes bungie will make it better or some miracle will happen. And for everyone using the 10 year crap excuse, just because we aren't handed the entire story at first doesn't mean they should cut a crap ton of other content, make the game repetitive as hell, and ALSO make us pay for cut content.

Who cares

2 RespuestasI hate hearing reviews of "big" named people on websites saying "free updates" like it's a good thing. I payed 60$+ , why should I be excited about "free" updates. Those should already be something that is included due to my payment. Bungie set terms of service for the game. You get free updates, yay! Why as a reviewer, are you excited about this. An update in general should be just that, maybe i don't get that they are using sarcasm, but they just say it so happily. Today, they release an awesome FREE update, it's free guys!! You get to enjoy the Iron Banner! Didn't I pay 60$+ for, what I thought, would be a complete game.
-
Yeah I too am waiting for a miracle to happen and save this game. They only enjoyment I have playing it is in PvP, and honestly thats not that impressive. I still think players shouldn't spawn with Special Ammo, it would force map control and reduce the fusion rifles and shotgun kills.
-
I feel enlightened! You are right I am not loyal to Bungie I won't buy the next game unless a bunch of free DLC comes up. DC Universe is a free game and it has more content than this game! The Grimiore cards are the stupidest thing I have ever seen!
-
I would buy you a beer bro, just a draft, but it's a beer none the less.
-
I personally enjoy the card system

A real story has a prologue ... An opening that draws you to keep reading through all hours of the night ... But that prologue has be solid, well defined ... This is the start of a '10 year journey' ... It has fallen flat on its face. No publisher in their right mind would take this discombobulated disaster and tell the author to finish it ... I really want to LOVE destiny ... But this will join that stack of crossword puzzles in the corner that I really have plans to do ( for the last three years). Re-invent Destiny ... No band-aids, no patches that add useless repetitive content over and over, but a solid story with fangs that sinks it's teeth into us.

Wow, I have a lot of work to get to here
