I don't want to jump on the moany bandwagon because i genuinely love the game but can anyone shed some light on the below.
I've been trying to build up Vanguard marks to buy a few things at once, and realised to my dismay that you can only keep up to 200 in your inventory. And if you earn more from the weekly allowance they count for nothing.
What is the reason behind applying a limit to this? Why stop people from playing and earning the currency they need to buy their ultimate loadout?

Especially when weapons and sparrows are 150 and 175 respectively. A 200 cap is just idiotic.

They should at least have some kind of a notice when you reach the 200, I just realized it today and have lost at least 120 marks in the past two weeks. My vangaurd rank isnt level 3 yet and I have armour from a faction already so I can really even use it...dumb. The list of annoyances is getting longer with this game, which is tolerable while there are no other games out but Bungie is gonna lose alot of people to these small but stupid problems with their game.

1 RespuestaI just realized this at level 26. My Marks have been 200 for a long time. Can't imagine how much I've lost... Gonna stand in the Mothyard and shoot myself.

It's to slooooowwww yoouuuuuuu doowwwnnnnnnn my friend. No other reason aside from artificially slowing your play experience by way of limits and caps. Which is paradoxic because at the same time it slows you down, it keeps you wanting to play. That is until you have +200 hours like some of us. Then you won't even turn the game on! ;)

2 RespuestasI lost 100 Vanguard marks last week bcos I did not know about the inventory cap of 200. My vanguard rep is at lvl 1 so I was saving up on the mark first to by some gears later. 1) There is no in-game info that warn of the inventory cap. Learned this in a painful way and through online web afterward. 2) Since we spend time to earn the marks, we should be allowed to save and use it as we we see suitable. 3) The inventory cap of 200 is too low especially when vanguard rep level is still low to buy anything yet.

Well nothing costs more than 200 so buy what you want then keep earning more back
-
sadly this is done so that the older players with more experience don't get ahead of the younger players that's why everything is very limited to very low amounts

6 RespuestasLol Moany bandwagon. Great visual. I think I pictured something else first though... That being said, the caps are dumb. I'm almost capped. There should be some other use for marks at least. How about buying upgrade materials with marks? Sure it's easy farming, but why not have a purchase option?
-
Found out the hard way myself. Does kinda blow.:(

3 RespuestasThe limit, I imagine, is that when new items become available for purchase a person cannot log on and buy it all at once. It becomes an imposed timer on content. Not the best solution. I'm more irate about the fact I have 400+ weapon parts and nothing to do with them.
-
2 RespuestasThe cap should be 150. Its balanced out and enough for 1 weapon at the vanguard. This counts also for crucible marks
-
1 RespuestaThe main reason this system is put in place is to keep people from hoarding currency used to "possibly" buy everything they need upon the release of new gear/items. I'm guessing to keep the economy in check.
-
3 Respuestashoarding it is holding your progress back, why would you hoard it past 175 anyway?
-
they dont cap shards, thats what you should be trying to save up cause that buys all the upgrades, not marks cause those are used to get shards.
-
1 Respuestayou should be buying vanguard gear with those marks for 65 per mark and sharding them for your vault gear cause your vault gear has better stats than.
-
It is another idiotic devotion in this game.

2 RespuestasI can't see a point to capping currency's other than to make you spend it while you have it and not be able to save it up to make multiple purchases. I guess it's bungies attempt at keeping you playing.
