Hunters are Underpowered

I've been watching reviews of the three classes and people are always saying that all the classes balance out, but here's why I know Hunters are underpowered. Hunters don't have an insta-kill like Titan and Warlock have. Hunters don't have a melee attack that instantly gives health, shields, and overshields like Titan and Warlock have. Hunters' Gunslinger subclass only lasts less than 10 seconds, and you only get three shots. If you miss then you're gonna die; whereas a Titan can miss his Super, but still take out the entire team. Same with the Warlock, as they can miss and still take out whole teams. Hunters' Bladedancer subclass is underpowered against enemies who see it coming. A Titan and Warlock can Super and kill the Hunter with ease. A Titan and Warlock can shotgun, then melee, and kill the Hunter in Bladedancer. What Hunters need. Overshield when in Bladedancer/make them harder to kill. Get rid of the timer on Golden Gun, or extend the time, or give more shots. Allow Golden Gun bullets to explode if fired at the ground, so if you miss you can still kill the player/AI enemy; just like a Titan/Warlock. A damage boost to Blink Strike/Throwing Knife. Precision Kills with Throwing Knife regen health. A hit/kill with Blink Strike will wrap your body in Arc energy(Overshield). I've been shoulder-charged insta-killed, Warlock and Titan Super killed through walls and around corners, and killed by a Titan Super on the ground while ontop of a tall structure. Hunters are sooo underpowered. It's either get in dangerously close, or don't miss. What do you think Hunters need? Or are they just as good as Titan and Warlock even without insta-kill melee, without melee that gives overshields, being easy to kill during Gunslinger and Bladedancer, etc.?

    1. Hunters regen health from melee attacks with bladedancer class. 2. Helmet with 4 golden shots, combine that with enemies explode and you can kill multiple enemies both pve and pvp. 3. If you know how to use your hunter you can get more kills in both pvp and pve. 4. I use bladedancer on crucible and average 30 to 40+ kills. I'm always the one with the highest score on my team. Bladedancers are op in my opinion. 5. Titans can fist of panic bladedancers but that's just 1 kill. If you're lucky, titan can smash 3 or more depending if the whole team is close together. 6. Bladedancers can run around and kill multiple people. 7. Rumble matches, my hunter again can kill multiple people with bladedancer. I have all 3 characters and i get the most kills with hunter in pvp and pve. Like i said if you know how to use him and set up his abilities right he can dominate. I don't see how hunters are underpowered. Hunters seem to get their supers faster than the other guardians. I can get supers faster and more often than the titan and warlock.

  • I think we do just find in pvp, of course that's if you have skill to use your specials right, because we can't blow our specials off at any one point. The only thing that annoys me in pvp is that hungering blade only works for arc blade and blink strike. This sucks because you hardly ever regain health from a melee kill. As you typically get a kill with the second melee strike. Not the first blink strike, so no health regen. In pve both classes absolutely suck. Specially on nightfalls where enemies have light switch and angry. Or any mission that has either of these modifications making arc blade useless, and golden gun un-able to blast more than a single enemy to smithereens, because even enemies like shanks have shields and and is absolutely worthless on even sub boses and you won't even drop orbs.

  • I actually think hunters supers are just fine if we're talking about pvp. However in pve hunter supers are the most useless thing in the game and it seriously needs to be looked at. Ps I have all 3 classes and my hunter is the main one I play

  • All I want is for throwing knife to be a one hit kill if its a precision kill. It would also be nice to pick up the knife if we miss.

  • Please tell me this was satire? As a Hunter, the only point in this entire statement I agree with is the Throwing knife needs a damage boost.

  • You have the same amount of damage intake as normal when you have goldengun, which is bullshit I mean I can only kill 3-4 people don't make me instantly die from one shotgun

      Hunters have the damn golden gun. Jesus h Christ. They all have their abilities. They all have instant kill crap, and everyone always wants their class to be exactly the same as the others. You have to learn to play each.

      I always get pwned by hunters in PvP. Maybe the hunter class isn't for you? I created a hunter and one round I got 36 kills but my k/d on her is still crap so I don't really PvP with her too much. I agree titans have amazing perks but they are all very open attack, example the shoulder charge has to be done as a surprise attack or the person I runs away or shotguns me or even just blinks jumps away. I started a warlock to see if I can own with her.

        its also important to notice that the hunter is a mobile/ranged class. even both of its supers are mobile. also, hungering blade regenerates blade dancers health with each blink strike/arc blade kill. its a hard playstyle to master for anyone with slow reaction time. just saying. you pretty much summed it up while hating on them, "get dangerously close and dont miss" hunters can recover from both of those situations with their agility and faster jumps.

      • As a person who loves and mains his Hunter all the way, I can confirm that we are damned fine in the crucible. Which other class has a thrown melee dealing potentially 160 damage? Which other class has a one shot grenade? Ranged semi sniper super? Invisibility? The quickest reaction time movement type? (Blink/Double Jump) Now before I have you thinking Hunters are OP, Warlocks and Titans have their own personal abilities granting them capabilities to combat enemies. Shielded melee. Tanky panicky supers. Great situational grenades. (Titan) One shot lunging melee. (Warlock) Burns and grenade amplifiers You get my point. The classes in the crucible aren't unbalanced my friend- I believe the main focus of your frustration should be the weapons.

        • I get killed by Hunters 20-1 by their supers over both other classes supers combined in my estimation. I would vote for a Nerf to that class in crucible. Yes, I know I'm not the greatest.

        • Hahaha you are stupid. If you use the explosive shots and the shots that allow you to shoot through enemies and the the enemy team is together then they are all dead. You can actually get more kills with golden gun because all the targets don't have to be in the same place. The sticky grenade in blade dancer can one shot enemies in crucible and the trip mine in gunslinger can one shot if placed well. Plus they can be used to block off an area for a little while.

        • Ok. I don't main hunter, but I do have one that I occasionally play and I've had my share of fighting them. I don't think hunter class is for you if you feel this way. You are pretty wrong on some of the things you mentioned. Hunters can insta-kill. Backstab perk. Hunters can regen health on melee kill. Hungering blade (how could you miss that) I do agree that their super is slightly lower dps than the others in pve BUT a good hunter can do serious damage. Golden Gun and combustion can wipe out teams. Bladedancers show stopper perk can wipe out multiple mobs and regen their super a bit. Heck even golden gun can do some serious damage to oversoul in CE! Maybe pick up a different class. I don't play hunter but I know enough to defend some of the things you mentioned.

        • I play a hunter as my main/my pvp guy. There's no way we need a buff on anything. Hunter is a skill oriented class, it rewards a skilled hand. Titan/warlock is for people Who like to auto aim and not have to earn their kills (tracking grenades, automated supers, shield melees) If you want all that other bs that makes it easier than it should be, done play a hunter.

          • I played a hunter before and think they're fine, they don't need any more power and their specials are good and last a while too. The golden gun has a few bullets and Insta-kills whatever it hits and the arc blade increases movement speed and Insta-kills anything it meeles. All in all the hunter is fine not underpowered and not overpowered

          • I main a hunter and they are fine the way they are they are a high risk high reward class you get rewarded with big kills if your willing to get within FoH or nova range hell even shotguns are dangerous to squishy hunters I will say pve needs a buff for gg like a multiplier for precision that would be nice but other then that it's fine as is

            • No no no. Two things.. Damage resistance with golden gun and instant precision kill with throwing knife. Take off the precision kill reset for throwing knife. Blade dancer has an instant kill. Hit an enemy from behind with blink strike. Which is easy with invis. Blade dancer is OP as hell. Gunslinger is the only underpowered subclass
