I know there are already other posts about this, but I wanted to express my own rage and disappointment with Bungie right now. You guys are killing your hottest title. Server stability has been an issue from day one. Just last night I couldn't complete a bounty for gold tiering 3 public events because of constant server disconnect. I run an open NAT, no firewall. Connectivity should not be an issue. Then you give players an awesome event with the Glass Vault, but make it so hard players have to grind out leveling their armor and weapons to make it feasible. In turn ascendant materials are so rare that players had to resort to alternative methods to find a way to acquire these precious materials. And they did. People were farming the loot cave because a typical piece of legendary armor or weapons requires a minimum of 18 pieces of ascendant material. The only sure fire way to get those materials was in the weekly events, at a rate of about 2/week. The Vault of Glass offers 2-3 per checkpoint, but being as people need the materials to run the Vault, and need to run the Vault to get the materials, you've created the biggest, dumbest, most frustrating catch-22 in the history of catch-22's. But then The Queen's Wrath happened, and people were happy. Because now we had a way to farm those materials and be able to actually start running the bigger events like the Vault of Glass. A guaranteed method to acquire those so hard to find materials that we need to level ourselves up to the necessary point to even be able to survive Nightfall and the Vault. Then you took that away. I heard Bungie had hopes, aspirations, and anticipation that this game would remain playable for ten years. Well, if you keep going on the same track you're on right now, it won't last six months. Activision spent $500,000,000 on this game, and I am sure they want to make as much return on that as they can. Well the only way that is going to happen is this: 1) Stabilize the servers: The whole point of the beta was to test server load, yeah? 2) Make ascendant materials more readily available so that it doesn't take months of endless grinding to get our upgrades and allow us to access the higher tiered events sooner. 3) Remove the patch that negates Queen's armor/weapons from breaking down into ascendant materials. Return the spawn/drop rates on the loot cave so people can acquire the materials they need. There are plenty of good games coming out, and you need to realize that you have a lot of competition out there that is less in favor of bending over their customer base and sticking it up their tailpipe. Assassin's Creed Unity drops in November, and I have plenty of other stuff to keep me busy until then. Heed my words, Bungie. Destiny won't last if you keep breaking a potentially fantastic game.
