No, this is not another thread to argue about the cave on. I won't give my personal stance on the cave, but I will say that it's about time for Bungie to tell us what they think about it. It's tearing a good chunk of the community to pieces, while Bungie could settle it all with a simple paragraph on what they are (or aren't) going to do about it.
EDIT: Just a quick note to anyone saying that the farming doesn't effect other people, it does. In pvp, weapon damage is balanced, but you still get you upgrades for you guns and gear (things like faster melee or better damage for the bottom half of your magazine). These small advantages can mean the difference in certain situations, and that is where it absolutely does effect other people.

2 RespuestasEditado por RbdPanda: 9/22/2014 3:32:31 PMHas the spawn rate been changed? Have drops been limited? Has anyone been banned? No. Pretty much states their opinion right there

1 RespuestaHonestly I don't see why people are so upset at this. Until Iron Banner is out, iirc, equips have no advantage over anyone else's. Secondly, it's an MMO, and much like other MMOs, farming is a legitimate part of the game.

Holy hell this seriously needs to die. Bungie themselves said it.

http://imgur.com/SrMjNIL We have their opinion.

1 RespuestaIm sure they didnt mean to have it but its no different then farmimg anything else.. i for one just barely found out about it reading this lol.. i dont feel it makes a difference.. if spending hours shooting in a cave for a rare chance to get something decent then so be it.. wouldnt be any different for me spending hours trying to beat a high level mission or strike or spendin multiple hours getting beat in crucible where i havent got anything worth my time spent anyway.. then again im a level 21 noob
-
Well it doesn't affect anyone when I do it. Because I'm not really a fan of playing PvP in Destiny.
-
I love the cave. Not for the pick ups but I find it therapeutic!! After being on a ridiculously hard strike mission or a bad few rounds of being rubbish on pvp I go to the cave. Get into a rhythm and just relax shooting and chatting :)

3 RespuestasJust a note to add to you edit. The only way you can upgrade a gun is by killing, with glimmer, and things collected from specific areas. So weather you do strikes or use the cave you still will upgrade you weapon just the same by getting kills. And never the less if you were to use the cave it doesn't give you helium or iron relics or spinmetal you still have to take the time to collect that aswell. So it still makes no difference if you use the cave or do strikes/raids. It's actually better to do strikes and raids because you get more xp for kills with higher level enemy.

bungie's response was nerfing story fights. the silence is deafening, bungie...

They just did give their opinion. The new Queen's Wrath bounty missions give Legendary gear, guaranteed, and you can buy Legendary equipment from the Queen's vendor in the tower by leveling your reputation. So now you have two choices: Giants legendary gear and ascendant materials from the Queen, or play the Loot Cave Lottery. I know which one I'm going to do! /oh and all you whiners against farming: get over yourselves

As far as bungie idk if they've said anything but a few mods gave said there's no exploit there and doing it isn't cheat that its perfectly fine but the ragging and trolling of sitting in the cave isn't ok

6 RespuestasIt's hardly tearing the community to pieces. If people want to spend hours-and it is hours from what ive heard- shooting at a hole in a wall dying of boredom just to get a legendary engram which turns out to be a white warlock band, then let them. I'll be doing strikes and getting my ass kicked in pvp.
-
1 RespuestaIt doesn't effect you in any way and I've tried it, it doesn't give you that much stuff

Editado por Tierul: 9/23/2014 12:47:58 PMthanks for he support so far, guys

They've already made a statement saying they don't care, and everyone should play his they want, a ninja also commented on this, don't remember the thread or weekly update though, but it's there

Its more fun to farm on Venus where the crashed ship is,at least the enemy fight back there.saying that I can't spend more than 5 mins at the cave without getting bored, its a good way to do bounties or tour missions

5 RespuestasEditado por Black Ronin 88: 9/22/2014 4:07:47 PMBefore Bungie does crap about the cave, they have a crapload of other stuff to do! First off they should adress what the hell they were thinking with pulling out such a sh*tty campaign. Fix droprates in strikes. Fix droprates after completing strikes. Fix legandary drops to be legandary drops! I have gotten more legendaries from blue drops than from purple. Fix the raid! I finished it yesterday with my friends, only to get stcuk after defeating the final boss resulting in not getting the rewards for completing the mission! FIX this Crap! Bungie has lost all my trust they gained with 5 great Halo games in just one awful piece of software trash! Then i would like to know why they mistreat special classes, warlocks being the only one to buy 2 times the same item from xur. The cave is the tiniest problem concerning loot drops. Get you fricking game together Bungie!

9 RespuestasThere is no need to have Einstein IQ to realize that level 5 mobs dropping high end content is a huuuuge game design mistake. I have two friends both working in a different mmo companies and I asked them separatedly what they where thinking about it and they were both astonished that Bungie -a company with so much veteran gamedesigners- designed something like this. As they said, it's going to litterally kill in the egg every single future content Bungie is planning to release. Farming is normal on a MMO, but it definitely should be done on high level mobs...
-
You think one cave is in the game lol crawl your maps there are a lot more than one with that said and the fact bungie/deej have yet to reply to this heated topic for how long .. It elementary my dear Watson use your brain
-
What will fix all this is proper loot distribution. I really don't see the big deal about this. Farming is a natural part of MMOs. This can be avoided with redesigning how loot is distributed. This is more a problem with the game itself then the players.
-
2 RespuestasI agree, no problem with farming mechanics, but this is clearly an exploit that was not intended to work this way. Can't blame people using it to their advantage. But Bungie should try to tackle these kinda of issues. Fix the exploit or tell us all it's okay to stand X yards away from a cave to trigger fast re spawns so with minimal effort you get a better result than playing the game like it was intended. Again, not blaming the players who do this. I can fully understand their position and frustration that they feel towards the current loot system. But Bungie should take their responsibility a bit more serious and act faster or at least bring out a statement about it.
-
well I am sure if they have an issue with it, they would have patched it yesterday
-
3 RespuestasDestiny is a dungeon crawler style game, in that game style, farming is what you do. Leave the cave alone.
-
5 Respuestasim going to go sit on said cave and make some of you play the game like its sposed to be played killing bosses and for the ones that cry about me sitting there you can kiss my pixel butt your crying to a non chat pixel
-
I'm sure they didn't intend it to be such a easy spot to farm but they did intentionally design the game for THE GRIND. and farming is part of it.

1 RespuestaEditado por SUNTRUST BANK: 9/22/2014 7:58:06 PMI'm surprised the all mighty DeeJ hasn't commented on this yet. Usually he is pretty good at commenting on things that are a pretty hot topic within the community. I won't let it past him tho. I'm sure he might comment on here sooner or later. I look at the cave like this. It's there. If someone wants to sit in front of the cave and shoot all day then that is their choice on how to play the game. If you choose to play you luck in the crucible or strikes/ raids then that's your choice. Don't try to make someone play a game the way you think it should be played if that's not how they want to. I'm sure looting the cave will get boring to them soon anyways once they've gotten all the gear they can. But basically I'm trying to say does someone looting the cave affect how you play the game? Like when you get on to play destiny is the game ruined because someone wants to shoot at a cave all day? If so I'm sorry but I turn the cheek to it because their decision to play the game does one way does not affect me at all! So let's just enjoy they game individually and not worry about someone else playing the game a different way!
