911! HELP PLEASE!.. BEEN STUCK ON LEVEL 20 for 5 HRS!!!, NOT LEVELING UP, WHILE TEAM MATES ARE GOING PAST LEVEL 20!!!!
IM ON THE VERGE OF GOING POSTAL..... WHY ARE MY TEAM MATES LEVELING UP, GETTING UPGRADES UP THE YING-YANG, WHILE IM STUCK AT LEVEL 20, and Yellow progress bar IS NOT MOVING AT ALL!!!
I know too move past Level 20, i need to attain Armor that has LIGHT....so i did that, when i earned it, i switched too the Items that have LIGHT!
BUT... every time i earn, pick up a Weapon or armor, EVERY ONE I GET IS LOWER THAN WHAT I AM!!
1pm EDT yesterday, ..My 3 person fire team began as, .Im Titan Level 20....2nd person Warlock level 15...and 3rd team mate is a Hunter level 14... after 2 hrs, im still at Level 20, 50% too Level "21"....2nd person is now Warlock Level 18.....3rd person..Hunter level 17....
2hrs later Im STILL at Level 20, and 50% too Level "21".....2nd person at Level 18... & .3rd person Level...20...!!!
2hrs later...IM STIILL at Level 20, HALF WAY TOO ..."21".....2nd Team mate - Now LEVEL 23!!!!....3RD TEAM MATE...LEVEL 22!

WHY THE HELL AM
WHY THE HELL AM I STUCK???... I HAVE .....LIGHT- 20 .......DEFENSE...640.....PRIMARY WEAPON - says LEVEL 16, w + 10 LIGHT, AND ALL MODIFIERS ATTAINED, so i cant upgrade it anymore.....
......We'd played for 6 hours straight, and my Yellow progress bar is STUCK at the 50% mark between Level 20.. YET, the 2nd guy is now at LEVEL 23...3rd person is at Level 21 AND IM STILL AT @#$%#$ LEVEL 20..... WTF IS GOING ON?????
3rd member had too leave, so it was me and 2nd member and we did STRIKE Missions Level 20 etc...
WE ALL DID THE SAME MISSION, FOUND THE SAME LOOT CHESTS, MATERIALS ETC... I LAID WASTE TOO EVERY ENEMY AS THEY DID, EARNING 100% ON MY VANGUARD BOUNTIES..........WE'RE FINISHING EACH MISSION AND EVERY TIME I HAVE MORE KILLS, MORE PRECISION KILLS, LESS DEATHS THEM , YET....THEY KEEP LEVELING UP AND LEVELING UP, WEAPONS, ARMOR..IN THE 230'S....
YET I GET NO UPGRADES HIGHER THAN WHAT I HAVE....I "EARN"...USELESS "LEVEL 6-18.., WEAPONS/ARMOR ..AND WHEN I DO GET ONE OF THE BLUE...ENGRAMS-BONUSES, THEY ARE ALL LOWER LEVEL THAN WHAT I CURRENTLY OWN!!!!!!!!!!
SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME, HELP ME BECAUSE IM GOING TOO TAKE THE GAME OUT AND THROW IT LIKE A FRISBEE

1 RespuestaI'm having the same problems... stuck at level 20 for a really long time. My clan tag has a word in the background, I think it says "TOMAR", and my gold level bar has been stuck on the first line of the "M" in TOMAR. I've been doing the strike playlists, crucible, daily and heroic stories, practically everything to try and boost my rank, but all I earn is lower level armor and weapons, same as you. I don't know if the new update that we had to download recently screwed it over, or what but I'm getting tired of level 20. My friend and I both were at level 20 about 2 or 3 weeks ago. We both play pretty frequently, but he's level 24 now and I'm still at level 20. I read the strike playlists earn u more than anything else when trying to obtain more light, but I have not budged on my rank in the past 2 or 3 weeks... I'm not an expert on the game, but I know enough to realize somethings wrong and I don't think it's gamer issues. I think it's the game itself. I would greatly appreciate advice!

I'm going to send u a friend request just to try and see if we can figure this out. I usually play on weekend nights around 8 or 9 but I'm sure we can get to the bottom of this.

After you get to 20 special armor has light you want that the more light is like xp so better gear gets u to lvl

4 RespuestasI am having the exact same problem, I have been stuck at level 23 for a day and I played for about 6 hours without the XP bar moving at all. I completed like 5 bounties and 6 strikes, but It hasn't even moved a bit.

I didnt read the whole post because I think I got the gist of it. You must be trolling because anyone on the forum knows you dont level through xp after 20.

Dude just farm marks and just buy the damn gear. No luck involved.

Gotta run the strike playlists man. It took me a long ass time to get gear that wasn't crappy. Do missions above your level they're hard and take a cool minute but I usually end up with at least 2 blue engrams and then the two items rewarded at the end.

From my experience, you need 20 Light to get to Level 21. It takes a while, and it's a bit unfair, you just need to be patient and try some events. That new Crucible gametype seems to give good gear, at least on the first game.

Guaranteed way to get light? Fight in the crucible or do strikes to gain Vanguard or Crucible marks. Gain reputation with any faction or simply with the Vanguard to buy legendary gear. This gear has light stats out the wazoo. It may take a few weeks to get a full set but I think your luck will change before then.

And the only way is to do level 20 or higher strikes and missions. Just grind it out. You have been helping low level players in there low level missions so you won't get any gear that gives light. Edit: doing the crucible at level 20 can yield you gear with late and engrams that have them also

2 RespuestasFirst thing you need to do is stop crying. Are you done? Good. Then I can give you some pointers, I believe doing patrol missions is one of the fastest ways to earn vanguard rep. Do you know what you can buy when you get rep to level 2 and have enough points? Thats right. Awesome gear. If you get bored with patrol mode, play crucible 3v3 (was it called skirmish? Cant remember) You get crucible points and rep really fast. Just remember to do bounties as well. Now stop whining and start grinding!

Alright buddy let's relax. Unless you purchase gear from a vendor using the various currencies in the game, all other drops are completely random. You may be going through a drought which happens to many players. Eventually drops will start going your way that will help you. Although some people are having better luck, keep in mind that the gear grind is designed for the long haul, not to hit level 30 by Sunday. Grinding rep is going to take awhile, especially if you are unaware on what you are doing. Are you currently repping a Class Item (Sash, Cloak, etc.) that represents a particular PvP faction, or are you sticking to the Vanguard rep with PvE? I'll say that today I've had solid luck with the Salvage PvP playlist. I've seen others in the same playlist pick up Legendary quality Engrams. I would also recommend doing Vanguard Heroic Strike Missions which should help you. Throughout this week do everything you can to earn Strange Coins as Xur will return next weekend with more Exotic quality gear.

4 RespuestasYou need 20 light to obtain the first level XP is useless now for your character (well not really as now every full XP bar grants you 1 mote of light but that is completely seperate)
