If you have finished all the story missions, got to level 20, and you think you have completed the game, you are mistaken. You have merely completed a very well disguised tutorial! Being an old-school gamer from back in the Atari/NES days, I despise how modern games treat you like an idiot with all the hand-holding and tutorial missions and such. The fact that Bungie had the insight and cleverness to disguise Destiny's tutorial as a story line and leveling process reflects well on their genius and mastery of game crafting.
Playing through nothing more than the tutorial and basing your opinions on that alone will turn you off to any game, even a game as deep, beautiful, and amazing as Destiny. Now if they could just fix the voice chat and make it easier to socialize, they will have crafted the PERFECT modern shooter.
9.9/10 (until they fix the voice chat, then it will be 10/10)
EDIT: This is the stuff for which the "tutorial" is preparing you.

Editado por zDemoncake: 9/13/2014 1:02:07 AMSo the point of the game if it isn't the story mode? The real content of the game was to level up to shoot mobs of enemies. I do understand the concept of the Post-game and how things are unlocked for you to do, but in my opinion, it should be icing on the cake for getting to the end of the game.

1 RespuestaSoo the real game is replaying the same missions over and over again? Thats what the kids call a good game these days? Oh I suppose so since thats what you do in CoD.
-
1 RespuestaI mean it's exciting getting new gear after lvl 20 but replaying the same content over and over gain is not very exciting. You can only play the same missions over and over again.
-
1 RespuestaSo £60 for a tutorial? And then an extra £40 for the proper game as DLC? Don't think so somehow

2 RespuestasThis is a grind? Wowsers, these players now a days don't know what grind is. Lineage 2 was a grind beyond grinds. 12 hours to complete your class change. 0.01% per mob, trying to level. But I loved it!!! Look in the forums and look how many people are stacked with exotics/legendary.

Editado por King Dicer: 9/14/2014 9:25:47 AMExactly my thoughts. Destiny so far has the foundations of an epic game and I can't wait to see what's in store for us. Oh and anyone thinking the grind is a chore? Try playing Monster Hunter and taking on the Alteron solo for 40 minutes in the hope it drops a "broken sky peircer" and it has a 5% drop rate. So many times I tried to get that item and it only happened on my 7th attempt. Then.... Capcom shut down the servers after just 3yrs!! That's a chore to grind. Destiny is a happy and fun grind IMO :-D

3 RespuestasI would add that Destiny is the first AAA MMO - that I'm aware of anyways - in the last 10 years that has had enough balls to try something new. Most devs are way too cowardice to risk big budget titles attempting to break the WoW mould. It's also the first game I've played in a long time that's had enough balls to put the best content late in the game where it belongs, instead of at the beginning to impress the reviewers with a short attention span. It's getting hammered in the early reviews for this because people are expecting the same crap they're used to. They are expecting to run around from exclamation mark to exclamation mark on a meaningless shallow hamster wheel like we've all grown used to doing. They are expecting hand holding and long cutscenes every 5 minutes. When a game just drops you in, explains nothing and does everything differently it gets mistaken for missing functionality. This has been the fate of all games that break the mould or define a new genre. Those people that don't 'get it' now, will eventually when this model becomes the new norm for the new MMOFPS genre.

1 RespuestaI'm lvl 18 and I've hardly touched the storyline. It's been the crucible and earth's strike lvl since lvl 5

Editado por FR05TY: 9/13/2014 2:57:26 PMI'm also tired of everyone mentioning repetitiveness and lack of content. Surely if that's the case then COD is the King of that bracket. The multiplayer is the exact same gameplay every time except for re-skinned guns and new maps. The story is as engaging as a mouldy potato and people think destiny is worse than that?!?! Now I cannot believe that for one second! Like the OP said, every game in existence has it's flaws, but don't judge a single game on flaws that many other titles have. Just FYI, I'm absolutely loving destiny at the moment! Levelled my Titan to 20 so now it's time to work on his gear and get my hunter and warlock to 20 :D

2 RespuestasMost who complain at content haven't played an MMO at day one, and have jumped in after an expansion or two. Vanilla WoW had three raids. Destiny is getting more content later this year - and I think it's fair to blame Activision for this, partially. Without a subscription, you can't support development if new content without DLC.

4 RespuestasI've played a bunch of MMOs, I love RPGs (rocket launcher and genre), love FPSs, come from COD (yes, lol), and still is having fun! To me, it feels like a Halo-MMO style Borderlands game which only makes this even funner with a favorite game series and genre colliding into one! And yes, I hate modern games treating us like idiots (I actually read the manuals when they existed before playing). The problem is, people today don't read, have a vague sign of intelligence, or can have a 1% effort at having an intelligence conversation. Instead all I get is called a homosexual,, female dog, a donkey (cmon already, im not a damn animal), and i'm also given a heads up that I haven't hit puberty. As for social aspect, I'm playing this game solo (noone to play with TT^TT) but i'll do random firesquads when voice chat is fixed.

6 RespuestasThis game has a humongus problem after lev20 and that's the amount of strikes available. If Destiny had 30+ strikes (how fking hard is it to fill an already built map with random enemies and a boss at the end? Yeaaaah not hard, bro...) then it wouldn't be that repetitive but 5-6 strikes? Come da f*ck on... I mean SIX strikes? Really? This is what happens when Bungie been too long with Halo, its like they're not thinking or some shit. Six strikes (if you're lucky and is playing on ps4) is your primary endgame before that one raid haha. Game received a 6/10 on GS and every single negative point the reviewer gave is spot on. Bungie, learn from your stupid mistakes and don't release hollow expansions with static worlds that have nothing else in it than chests that contain motherf*cking spinmetal.

Exactly what I said. Well put.

Here's the thing, people are throwing crap around about it being COD/halo/diablo/borderlands etc.... and players of other games etc... are retarded because they have questions about destiny. I have played all of those games, I also find them lacking in certain areas. All games could be improved, some more than others. Why don't people look at the game for what it is? Stop comparing to other games and learn more about the game itself. If it is not for you, then I am sure there are games out there better suited. Games like Diablo and even borderlands is grinding to find gear, it is irrelevant if the dungeon etc... is randomised, it is still grinding. Do you grind in a large area that the route changes or a grind where you know the mobs are? COD is a grind to keep levelling, level up then roll again. All games have their quirks. WOW was fantastic and offered everyone what they wanted straight out of the box! NOT!!! Yes you may argue, Bungie could learn from others, why should they not try new things? Do you all know the full plans for Destiny, you know when every update is being released and what is in it? Developers provide a set of content to keep people happy at the start then they have a choice, dlc or updates. You have a choice as well, bolt straight out of the traps and level the quickest way possible, so you have nothing left to do prior to new content being available or you take your time and look around, enjoy the worlds you visit. The atmosphere on several missions is fantastic. Could the game be improved? Sure, but so could every game out there.

3 RespuestasYeah go play Metal Gear Solid Ground Zereos apparently thats a tutorial as well!
-
4 RespuestasThen what is the game? I'm at level 20 and I've completed the story but what else is there to do? PvP is shit and out of the question. The Strikes seem very tedious and boring with a giant bullet sponge boss at the end. I don't care for raids. I'm not paying 40$ for DLC. Tell me what is there to do?
-
1 RespuestaEditado por Zylonite: 9/13/2014 6:17:34 AMHonestly the game is a big grind after level 20. I am sticking wit PvP for now....at least there is a bit of fun in that...
-
3 RespuestasYeah I went from 1-20 in 2 days 20-24 in two more days lol after twenty it slows down dramatically.

2 RespuestasThat link isn't working for me

5 RespuestasAll I've done since getting to 20 is farm enemies (done that since level 1), play PVP (done that since level 5) and strikes (done that since level 6) so what am I missing? Where is this new content that I should be doing?
-
like ur post sofar me 9.5/10

10 RespuestasInsanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

2 RespuestasDestiny needs weekly content updates from Bungie. And I mean significant content. Not stuff like, here's some new shades or here's some new bounties. It needs new missions, new crucible game modes, new strikes, more than one damn Raid, etc. It needs some significant gameplay tweaks to make things run more smoothly. I could go into detail, but I just don't feel like it. The game is loads of fun, but the for it to last as long as Bungie wants it to last, lots has to be added.

Trying to get to 20

Correct and even then there still DLC and I'm extremely confident they will add a shit ton of other things and new planets
