Try Skywatch in Old Russia got one every 30-40mins where you need to protect some satellite but i think you need a couple people on map as well. I've gotten about 10 public events in 11hrs of playing, plus on skywatch this huge battle between the hive and fallen takes place not sure on the timeline of this but it is NUTS. Lovin this game right now.
