With all of ps4's higher sales it would appear that the people buying the best console to play Destiny on aren't actually playing Destiny.
http://www.vgchartz.com/preorders/
Here, we can see ms down buy a mere 8,000 units. This to me is good news because it shows both psn and xbl will have robust size communities.
But why the gap when we know ps4 is clearly out selling the x1?
I think the majority of xbox 360 owners will move to the x1 while nearly all the ps3 owners will upgrade to the ps4. However, from my 5 years experience at Best Buy, I would think that half the ps3 owners are considering not moving to another console since they were bought for reasons that ps4 doesn't have I.e cheapest blue ray on the market when it came out, free online and most games, Destiny included, are appearing on both gen's.
With the xbox, once the x1 drops in price a bit more changing from the 360 to the 1 will be like changing socks. I see plenty of people who main x1 myself included purchasing a ps4 for its exclusive titles like bloodborne but also see very few ps4 users purchasing an x1 for the same reason. Let's face it, if they loved halo, most would already be on xbox.
Thoughts?

Shut the f*** up you X Box fanboi...

3 RespuestasMy thought is that most Sony players aren't interested in shooters as much as Xbox, and Xbox veterans are also fans of bungie.
-
"Console war". I can't believe this is still a thing. If I had the money I'd have a PS4 and a Wii in addition to my XB1. Fanboys are stupid.
-
I went from Playstation 3 to Xbox 1

I will buy it for X360 and I won't be moving to next (crap)gen. Why I have to buy an stupidly expensive system to play crappy games? Between 2014 and 2015 the only games wich I think that they're barely interesting are Destiny, The Phantom Pain, No man's sky and maybe Star citizen. All for the current gen and the pc. I think I will skip this next gen.
-
I think this is just for the physical copy and has nothing to do with digital pre orders.. But I am not 100% sure...

6 RespuestasEditado por Un1337ninj4: 9/5/2014 3:34:47 PMAnyone who buys an XB1 is far too forgiving to MS. Seriously, that E3 made a loyal customer to an avid turncoat. I love my 360 and do not hate the XB1. Until we receive a formal apology however...
In case you didn't realize yet all of Jim's vids do sayy "Thank god for me." as he is acting. Admittedly in a garish way but his content's typically true.
4 RespuestasYour information only looks at the USA. PS4 world wide has outsold the XBox One by 2 to 1 with August articles I have read. You don't have any information about the rest of the world and XBox is a big seller for the USA. Last sales map I looked at in February showed the XBox had higher next gen sales in more states than the Playstation. System is from a US company. Home turf advantage you might say. Go into any US store in my area and XBox will have the bigger displays and the front area displays. I usually have to go to the back of the store for Playstation related items. From what I see, XBox is doing as well in the USA as the Playstation is. I'd say they are running neck and neck. That is why are seeing what you are seeing. Bottom line. No competition, no innovation.

I love Halo but was set on getting a PS4 when they both launched. I'll eventually get a X1, for Halo cause I can't no buy Halo. I'd combust into flames or something if I didn't

8 RespuestasI was gonna switch to ps4 but I can't do no halo. McC and destiny Ashlin one console is all I need pretty much. Now we just need some exclusive games of the adventure and hardcore violenceroute and we'll be good to go

1 RespuestaEditado por Zii DeeZ Takomo's: 9/5/2014 3:20:43 PMI loved halo 1,2,3 after that,it was silly and dumb, destiny was fresh and I wanted the best possible experience so I purchased a ps4 , I haven't played halo 3 in so long I lost all those wonderful friends, so switching wasn't hard.
-
1 RespuestaCuz we bought them just for this game. Lol no I bought my ps4 for destiny. And any other good games that may come out after.

2 RespuestasI wonder how close it will be when xbox opens in 28 new regions in September?
-
I'm switching from 360 to 4 along with the majority of my friends list. But we all buy all the consoles so it doesn't really matter. Being a fanboy an picking a side does nothing for you, an nothing for the industry. If anything your just cheating yourself on games you will miss. After I purchase a PS4 I want to build a rig then get a X1 once they cut it below $350. That way I will be able to play any title I wish, an won't be limited to 1 gaming device.

I love halo but I have a xbox 360 to play halo on. I might buy a one again to go along with my ps4. I traded the one for the ps4 because I didn't have the money to do both. The MCC looks fun but I have no faith in halo 5 after halo 4. Hopefully I can beta it w.o buying an xbox one to see if it's worth it.

I'm sure bungie are just looking at total units sold as apposed to xbox/ps4
-
I'm gonna use the old cliche of XB being a primarily FPS console. More people on XB prefer FPS. The halo factor could be added into this as well. With people who played halo wanting to support bungie's new project. It's still fantastic for them. I noticed this myself a couple days back. Considering the install base is larger on PS4, it's good to see them being close. Whichever console we play this on though, I hope it lives up to the hype. I've never been this excited for a game before.

6 RespuestasHalo is my favorite game series and I still bought PS4 with no plans to buy XBone. I've seen many polls and threads that would suggest a large percentage of previously exclusive 360 gamers switched to PS4. It's not hard to believe, M$ came out the gate with a massive amount of BS and garbage policies and in the end the hardware is just pathetic. Halo is no longer made by Bungie and all multiplats are better on PS4. I used to love Xbox but now the thought of supporting them makes me sick.
-
Well a lot of gamers are waiting till the dust settles, I bought the ps4 bundle
-
will be interesting to see once digitals are added to it. Sony has a lot of digital orders & xbox just started them recently
-
Ps4 fanboys are gonna rage
-
5 RespuestasEvery multiplatform game will sell better on PS4 unless it is some late ported game like Plants vs Zombies and hopefully Tomb Raider.
-
7 RespuestasI was a Xbox person until E3 of 2013 when Microsoft announced their policies for the Xbox one (now revoked). It was something I couldn't overlook and honestly haven't had much respect for them since. Bought my ps4 and love it. Gonna miss Halo but happy with my decision.

1 RespuestaYou do understand that in order to play Destiny you will be required to have a PS+ subscription with both PS3 and PS4?.. just like XBL Gold is required for both XB1 and XB360... just curious.. so Destiny related upgrades from PS3 to PS4 won't be less because of free-to-play multi-player.. lack of upgrades will be due to there being no backwards compatibility and people not being able to afford/not wanting to pay the $ to upgrade their console...

5 RespuestasGuess I'm in the minority I switched from 360 to PS4.
