This is another forum post regarding Gunslinger, a hunter subclass getting a lot of hate PvE-Wise. I mainly played hunter throughout the beta and really enjoyed Gunslinger's abilities and want to main it in PvP and PvE when the time comes. Unfortunately people are mainly complaining about Golden Gun and how it outputs little damage, requiring all 3 shots to kill a higher rank enemy such as a Fallen Captain or a Hive Wizard.
Yes there's perks that allow Golden Gun to make enemies explode (Combustion) and penetrate through enemies (Keyhole) which sounds great, but using it against bosses like Sepiks Prime prove it as less effective. The ideas of buffs have been passed around, such as adding an extra shot, or make it do more damage in pve.
The buff I've read about that would be best for gunslinger's play style as a precision-based marksman would be to make it capable of critical damage on weak spots (via headshots or Vex power cores). This buff would be the most balanced since Golden Gun is already a one-shot kill in PvP (btw Golden Gun was by many considered the best super in PvP) and wouldn't make it more overpowered in that play setting. In PvE Golden Gun's effectiveness would improve and prove Gunslinger to be a worthy subclass while maintaining the marksman-based play style.
I don't expect this to receive mass approval or anything but if you agree with this buff concept (Golden Gun critical damage) feel free to vote yes or no in the poll.
Thanks For Reading!

I think unlocking Keyhole will fix that, as firing into a crowd will be much more effective. As for it's damage against bosses, I agree that it is lackluster. However, I also found Fist of Havok and Nova Bomb underwhelming in this area as well. I think the trick to effective super use against bosses is going to be taking down as many adds as possible as you hit the boss. This will produce orbs of light that your Fireteam can absorb and come right back with a super of their own. Alternating between three or six people, this could result in much more frequent super uses and shorter clear times for boss encounters. That's just my theory though.

Editado por Darmuda: 8/30/2014 10:21:51 PMI swear it already does do critical damage, you can check this out on a spider tank if I'm wrong... They are slow with big critical areas. The golden gun is also probably supremely more effective against bosses than fod and nova. I played as a warlock and the nova bomb never did good damage against sepkis, even with vortex mastery. The golden gun was designed to deliver huge damage to a single target.
