I was wondering, now that the xbox one requires installations of game disk that are the exact same size as the digital copies, what version do you all buy?
Is there any other gamers like myself that still buy the hard copies? Do you all think that hard copies are restricted on next gen consoles? I would love to hear everyone's input!

Physical, on console anyway, it's cheaper, you can get it delivered day one so it's just as quick and you can trade your games in or sell them if you don't like them or you're done with them. Which is annoying when you consider that the only reason Downloads are so expensive is because of the retailers moaning about not being able to compete...

1 RespuestaPhysical copies have a lot more value to me than digital copies, but a lot of my gaming is digital because of the lower prices on Steam or things like PlayStation Plus.
-
Physical, I prefer to actually have the games I own in my possession and it just feels nicer to me having a tangible copy of it rather than the game essentially existing in the ether :P The only games I've gotten digitally have been free ones or so ridiculously dirt cheap it isn't funny. But yeah, if given the choice between a physical copy of a game and a digital one, I'd greatly prefer a physical copy.

Editado por Nietoperek: 8/31/2014 3:17:09 PMDigital because it runs faster off your hard drive then the disc not only that I will preload the game on the 7th while you will be installing it after you get it and I will be playing at midnight

Physical. I like having the case of a game.
-
Physical. DD is still too inconvenient. And for collector purposes, having the case is nice.
-
Given the choice, I will always choose a physical copy. I like to have something tangible for my money.
-
I just like theysicals. Because i like shpw with my collectoon of games. Amso i can lendvthe To my brother and don't have to worry about switch main ps4 etc. Just give him the game and visa versa.

The only reason I would buy a digital copy of a game was if I had two consoles. Which I don't...

2 RespuestasDigital, it means I can share the games I buy with one of my friends who shares his in return. Can't go wrong with free games.
-
Physical I dunno, I feel like the game is really mine when I own the disc.
-
I would prefer buying digital but apparently xbox won't let you access the game til 1201 pdt which is like 2am my time and funk that

I can say the generic thing and say Physical because if it breaks, but that has never happened. For convenience sake, digital is so much easier, download it and there you go, no going to store, no code. With Steam you can redownload those on the same account on a new PC correct? If you break that disk, a year or so after, what will you do? Then your system fails you, you have nothing and need to buy a new game. *sips tea*

3 RespuestasEditado por RoughBeta: 8/29/2014 3:11:43 AMPhysical. If something goes wrong with the hard drive or the console itself, all those games are gone. Plus, I like to sell them if I get bored of them. The only digital games I have were free or are small indie games.
-
Just for the sake of having a physical receipt and someone to blame if something goes wrong with the pre-order.
-
Physical. It gives you a lot more freedom to do whatever with the disc, and if your hard drive breaks, you didn't just loose your entire game library.
-
6 RespuestasDigital because I can share the games

I'm going all digital on the Xbox One. I just pre loaded Destiny on it. PS4 and Wii U are still physical. I don't trust Sony's online infrastructure and Nintendo has a shit account system.
-
Wow, didn't expect the results to be favoring physical. I guess people just like to have a physical possession of something. I thought just having it already in the console would be convenient.
-
That case man, plus I can sell a physical copy if I get bored
-
Definitely physical copies. the only time I get game online is when they are dirt Cheap.
-
The case man, the case
-
Physical. Downloads take too long on my Internet connection and if your console/hard drive fails, well, there go your games.
-
I just buy discs. I haven't played any of the new consoles though, and even then I'd still prefer a disc.
-
Gotta have my case bro

I will always prefer physical copies. I just like having the case
