I'm literally shaking in anger. I don't like insulting others but these people are absolutely vile. You hear the classic straw man arguments, "I have gay friends," "We put food on the table/roof over your head," etc. It's all here.
In fact, we hear the son put out completely factual arguments, but they're refuted with "Word of God," as they commonly are.
And yes, before anyone says something, not all Christians are like this. There are many kind and caring Christians who accept gay people as well, and good on those individuals. But it's unfortunate that people have to see it in a negative light because of people like this.
I just can't believe that someone's parents would do this. A damn shame.
Here's the Reddit thread from which the video was posted from. The son's BF posted the video.
And people wonder why there are gay pride rallies/parades...

1 RespuestaYou aren't dealing with Christians...you're dealing with Authoritarians. Christians understand that we are ALL sinners. That Christ was necessary because humans were not capable of living without sin...and that we are all in need of forgiveness. So the notion that one group is a "better class of sinner" than another, just doesn't fly. Hence, Jesus' parable of the Adulteress. The people of his time were self-aware enough of their own imperfections that they walked away. Today's "Christian" (fundamentalists) would have been showing up with boulders in tow. Authoritarians, OTOH, see the world thorugh a prism of Tribalism and Fear. That its a dangerous world..and that the only way to survive is to submit to "strong leaders", cling to those who are most like themselves....and dominate/punish anyone who is different or disapproved of by their "leaders". So while I understand your anger, actually these people are to be pitied. In this case, you are dealing with parents who see the world so rigidly...and through such a prism of fear...that they would turn their back upon their own child, rather than question what they've been taught.

Those are not Christians. I apologize to anyone watching this. We do not treat people like this. Though we believe it is a choice. Which is perfectly fine as there is no evidence proving otherwise. That does not give anyone the right to treat another human being like this. I am saddened by the pain this poor boy must have endured with such hateful evil parents.

Yo you hear about the shark coming out and getting disowned by the ocean? So much more tragic

A regularity around the world. Hopefully it won't be in the future, but I can't see that far.

Obviously the parents are disgusting -blam!-ing -blam!-s, but I questioned the son's relationship with his parents after hearing the Facebook bit. Something tells me that he was acting pretty douchey for a while. I really want to believe that would have eventually caused the son to get kicked out anyway, but sadly, that's probably not the case.

>Family waits 9 months after he comes out to kick him out Yeah, this isn't fishy as -blam!- at all. Something must have had happen in that time frame or he would've gotten shit much earlier.
