In MOST schools nowadays. They don't really teach you for any reason other then so u do good on the tests that count for school funding. They teach u tricks for remembering for the test but after they could give a shit for what
You have learned. Useless facts in history. Useless science experiments and learning. And (after about 8th grade) usless mathematics

8 RespuestasSchool actually teaches your mind how to process complex thoughts and calculations, allowing you to lay the ground work for cognitive reasoning and problem solving. Knowledge can be just as useless as a dumb bell, or a jump rope. It's what those things allow you to do with your body / mind that gives them their worth.

I can see someone isn't in Advanced Placement.

Look, even though destiny will be awesome, you really have to take into consideration that the game lasts forever and there is no point of just skipping school for a game. Wait a couple hours. I'm balancing classes (including honors) and water polo up until release and beyond. Trust me, destiny isn't going anywhere. There'll be plenty of time for it in the future

2 RespuestasSorry sir, however I must say that if you actually did anything in school, and weren't one of the useless failures that fill the lower classes, you would know how useful school actually is. Signed: A Highschool Senior with AP Physics, AP European History, and AP Calculus 1.

For some students its not so bad to miss ONE day of school for Destiny. However you are not one of them. Please pay more attention in your english and grammar classes.

2 RespuestasSome of those "usless mathematics" serve a purpose you idiot. And considering you managed to misspell useless, you should stay in school.

In school you can learn that "why skipping school for destiny release isn't base" isn't properly formatted. You'd also learn that it doesn't make sense. On a more serious note, you have absolutely no idea what you'll use later on in life. I know the age-old adage, "I've never used algebra outside of school", but I definitely have - in all 3 of my completely different "adult" jobs. Honestly, I've used quite a bit of my pre-cal, as well. The purpose of school is not necessarily the information, either - it's the practice of learning it. It's gaining the self-discipline necessary to do virtually everything else for the rest of your life. You don't like the work you have to do in your history class? Guess what, your parents didn't particularly like dealing with an infant. Count your lucky stars they learned the social standards and self-discipline that were reinforced with education.

31 RespuestasEditado por aboniks: 8/25/2014 10:04:49 AMThis is going to sound like old-guy bullshit, but take it for what it is: Go to school for yourself, and nobody else. The last day of high school is the last day of your life that anyone will ever be paid to make an effort to help you avoid completely -blam!-ing up your future. I'm not saying cutting out for a day is the end of the world. You just sound like you're going to school because you have to do it to make other people happy. -blam!- all that noise. Learn everything you can now, while someone else is still paying for it, because it's never going to be free again.

5 RespuestasUseless and science can't be used together in a sentence as science is anything but useless.

3 RespuestasThe education system is a brainwashing institute. It is to get people into a herd mentality to blindly follow society.
-
Haha, when I went to my freshman year of College for Secondary Education of Mathematics. My Secondary Education Professor on the first day told the whole class to forget everything you learned at school because most of it is pointless.
-
7 RespuestasDon't minimize what an education can do for you. Stay in school as long as you can and be grateful for the opportunity. There are millions of people around the world who would kill (figuratively, of course) for the opportunity to get a standard education in a western democracy. Don't blow off school for a video game. It will be there when you get home from school and you finish your homework.

Public schools are about useless. They are more of a free daycare than education institute.
-
You're all basic bitches
-
You hate school because you suck at it.
-
Are you mentally retaded? You hate school because you suck at it.
-
My god the irony.
-
I agree with almost everything you say. I myself left HS a year early cuz it was pretty much pointless. But... MATH IS IMPORTANT. SCIENCE IS IMPORTANT. HISTORY IS IMPORTANT. Don't let your poor experience in school affect your view of education as a whole.
-
1 RespuestaYou even math, bruh?

Just FYI, I have used many of those "useless" history facts by applying the lessons to my own life so I don't repeat them. I have also used much of what I've learned in those science experiments for quick fixes for things around my house. And finally I've used a suprising amount of algebra and a little trig since I've graduated. None of which was for my job. Most of the stuff is common sense but the level of common sense in kids these days has approached rock bottom and they're currently digging a ditch to lower that bar even more

1 RespuestaI can sympathize with your frustrations over standardized testing. A Texas resident myself, I did many of them and wasted so many hours in the classroom learning test-taking "tricks". However, do not underestimate the value of knowledge.
