This looks VERY well thought out. Bravo for taking the time to draw all this out and prepare [b]pictures[/b] even. The way you set it up could drastically change how the Destiny meta game works in retrospect! Perhaps even just reinvent it entirely from just icons, backgrounds and special loot. This looks a lot like what Call of Duty does with it's competitive multiplayer...in fact it looks a LOT like it (with a few differences such as leaderboards and some tweaks to make it better). Did you draw inspiration from how they did it?

  • I actually just thought about the flaws of past Halo ranking systems, what they did well and tried to make one for Destiny based on that. Focusing rank on WINNING games is the primary factor that made Halo 3 games so competitive. Having a visual representation in game is also extremely important as it gives meaning to a player, and allows for bragging/becoming legend. The system tries to minimize boosting and alternate accounts with SEASONS and making player score per game AVG a factor into rank. I don't play Call of Duty really all that much, so I don't know how they do their ranking system. But I figured colour code the ranks with the familiar colour tiers we know from Destiny, make each game mode/playlist have it's own icon so that you can distinguish a good rumble player from a good control player.
