So turns out Destiny's maps aren't open world. You can't "climb that mountain over there". Skyboxes turn distant landscapes into unreachable locations. Zones are linear and and simply funnel you from one small area to the next.
As if this isn't bad enough we only get ONE ZONE PER PLANET. So we get about 4 of these forge world sized maps come September.
How pissed are you?

I spent 20 hrs exploring the cosmodrome and still didn't get to experience all of it. Not to mention the fact that there were a lot of twists and turns in those tunnels that led to dead ends that looked like they were ripe for an expansion if they don't already have areas already in the full release. Even if I only got 60 hrs out of the story, exploring and strikes, another 15 in raids, and a solid 20 in pvp before I get bored, id say that's a $60 well spent. Plus games like destiny that get you wrapped up in your characters progression tend to make you want to explore when you have little left to do and that the high level content is something we know almost nothing about other than they exist. Complaining that it's not as massive as you previewed it to be is looking a gift horse in the mouth. Stop complaining and enjoy one of the best games that will come out in the next 12 months. Personally I am completely happy with the size, games that are so massive they require quick travel in my opinion are too big. No one wants to spend 10 minutes on their sparrow to get to one side of a map several times in a gaming session.

Does not bother me, I'm sure the expansions will add quite a bit, and the Old Russia stuff in Beta was pretty fun.

4 RespuestasSomeone seems unclear as to what a skybox is. The comment about the mountain was referencing the fact that the mountain itself was actual geometry and not just a picture. If there were nothing stopping you from getting to that mountain, you could absolutely climb it. If it were a skybox, you couldn't climb it, plus you would never actually be able to reach it either as it would be a picture at a fixed distance from the players camera. Cliffs and some invisible walls turn distant landscapes in to unreachable locations, please get it right. Can you climb that mountain? Yes, it's real geometry, if you got there you could climb it. Can you get there? No, and there is absolutely no reason to go there as there would be absolutely no game content out there. Could they create new content at that mountain and have you climb it? Yes. Now stop complaining. I am not pissed. This was all understood the moment they said it.

1/10 poll wasn't funny
-
I am in the 1%. Picked not purchasing but only on the grounds they attempted to deceive by not correcting.
-
Nice and unbiased poll. OP is genius like 500 trolls.

You forgot the option that said, "So what? The game still looks frickin amazing!!!"

1 RespuestaI'm laughing because I'm starting to see some elements from the No crowd suddenly scrambling for content walls from Bungie to stop players from advancing and discovering a shallow campaign in the first 72 hours. Talk about little faith in the developers that one has to curtail other players from playing how they would like to. Next time say yes to more options and content rather than no all the time. Those little oddities fill the time and gain the love of the RPG player over a boring lesson in UI micromanagement.

Oh look, Another one of these posts, In their natural habitat, #Destiny.

I never read more than a headline about destiny until the beta started and I played it, lots of fun, im buying it.

http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2014/08/19/interview-bungies-jonty-barnes-on-destinys-locations-multiplayer-and-beta-testing/ They talk about the size of the zones in this article. Now shut your whiney face.
-
Size isn't always a good thing. Look at what happened to Just Cause 2. Yeah....that makes you realize that size isn't the key. Like I don't give a shit.

Editado por Alex_Supertramp1: 8/20/2014 12:06:43 AMI wouldn't take the alarmist position to the news of only one zone per planet. There are still areas on Earth that were not in the beta. Plus, bungie has said that the beta represents only about 10 percent of the game, so if there are only five planets, they will probably be pretty big, with hidden areas to find as well. Check out the hidden bunker on earth that you had to glitch to access, it looks pretty big for an indoor space. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFynhHBPzm4

1 RespuestaNot that disappointed, I have 15 plus hours played in the beta and I never got bored. So when the full game comes out not only are we going to get more areas in old Russia (the areas I would get one shot trying to get to) and story missions. we will also get two other planets and the moon. With that alone I could get 100 plus game hours, and that’s not including pvp.

Dissapointed in destiny slightly but still excited

2 RespuestasThis isn't Skyrim mate, you should have gotten a feeling for the levels from the Beta.
-
3 RespuestasI'm not pissed...I just think you're an idiot.
-
I'm not pissed off at all, the destinations per planet were MASSIVE. We couldn't explore all of it, we didn't do all the missions and there will be locations that are blocked off till level 20 forcing players to come back later post game.

"By thousands we lead."

It's like this forum is trapped in a never-ending game of telephone. By the time Destiny actually launches people will have convinced themselves that Bungie promised them personally that Destiny would be a 7000% open world game.
-
Do you have links stating Bungie promised all those things
