By being too vague and not as transparent as they probably should have been about Destiny. Playing that mystery card while CoD: AW came out today and blew the doors down. Sure I thought I was watching a virtual simulation of Elysium but they went on to tell you just about everything the game has to offer and people went ballistic. By being so secretive I just worry that Bungie may have just cost themselves a few "on the fence" buyers because of this hush hush policy.

I think they are playing their cards perfectly! They have all month to slowly let info come out to lead up to the epic 9/9 release. I find myself checking the forums and being a lot more active because I never know what info they might release.

4 RespuestasApples and Oranges. Call of Duty is basically what we used to call an "arcade game". At this point everyone knows what Call of Duty is...and the only thing they need to do to sell it is convince everyone that its the next logical step in the franchise. What you see is what you get. No story. Just run around and shoot people. Destiny, OTOH, is a RPG as well as a FPS. One that it is planning on enduring for 10 years, not just until the next map packs come out. Much of the replay value of the game is bound up in keeping the MYSTERY intact about the world they are creating and its contents. Mystery that will keep people coming back and playing the game (and eventually reading books and seeing movies) in order to learn more and more of the story. As for the quality of the action game that is the foundation of Destiny---THERE ARE NO FENCE-SITTERS. At least not among those who cared enough to play either the Alph or the Beta. It is one hell of a fun game to play. The people who are whining about the game now aren't people who are complaining about the game mechanics. They are people who want Bungie to give them 10 years and hundreds of thousands of man-hours of content for their $60. They are people who are too "ADHD" to fully explore the depth ofthe game Bungie is creatiting, or they want Bungie to give them all of the 10 years worth of story.....RIGHT NOW!! ...and Bungie----nor any decent storyteller----simply isn't going to do that.

So they rip titanfall and halo... and they blow the doors down... its COD... you've played it before and you morons will continure to play that game... please stop giving them money... I'm begging you.. COD has single handedly cripled creative ingenuity in videos games, its what pushed the sequel markets and the reason why companies now-a-days are afraid to come up with new ips... because if its not competing with the shitdick bro gamers.. they don't get any recognition... seriously have some taste... or some discretion.. maybe dignity.... it's pathetic and sad the billions they've made off that lackluster franchise .... and if anyone wants to tell me that monetary value of something makes it good... well go listen to the millionaire lil wayne.. and tell me he's TuPac.... go -blam!- yourselves Fed Up ~Huff

3 RespuestasOff-Topic: Anyone notice Uplink is a rip of Grifball?

Not gonna lie. Both trailers look good. I'll be playing both. Do I have to choose?
-
Lmao "Cod AW blew the doors down" then have fun playing another crappy cod game.
-
It appears you missed the part where any playstation or xbox gamer could actually PLAY the game during Beta. Now until the Beta I would definitely say I was confused to actually what Destiny was. Problem is that it's not something that can be described - It's something you have to play yourself. To describe it is to compare it to things like Halo, WOW, etc. and while it is those things it's also NOT those things at all. It's amazing.
-
Yeah I'm going to have to say that bungie isn't really hiding much. They have had a beta so people could play the game firsthand and they have quite a lot more videos from themselves and thousands of videos from the beta. If you're still sitting on the fence because call of duty put one video of a game that's literally doing nothing but playing catch up with other large franchises then you need to hop off that fence and stay over there with your COD buddies.
-
If there are no secrets about a game, then there is nothing to be excited for. You have to know that there is more to a game than what was shown in the trailer.
-
Going ballistic over COD.. is not positive thing. lol You saw cod being cod. Oh and cod pulling abit from BF and KZ with that tidal wave. Faced paced, kill who you see first, team? what is that? FPS. COD.

Editado por Retro_Spective: 8/12/2014 6:36:58 PMlol don't be fooled by a spruced up reveal trailer, I've watched the actual gameplay vid on ign, its just another cod with the added verticality, customization. Its engine is still out dated with a few hd textures slapped on.

If u played the beta there is no more fence. Who agrees with me.

PvE oriented FPSMMORPGs are an extremely small and rare genre. Up until Destiny its been an extremely niche market. By being quiet on a lot of things gives them a lot of room to make changes as they find out what does and doesn't work. If they release a statement that the game is going to be this way and exactly this way forever when they eventually do make a change because what they thought doesn't work in the way they hoped, there would be a ton of backlash. This game in some ways will always be in a beta state because it's pretty much unexplored territory. Just look at the announcement of how end game raids work. No one has even been able to touch then unless you work for Bungie. When they eventually do release an easy mode for them or a matchmaking system there will be a lot of complaints from the hardcore elitists. But bungie will notice they are losing players because they spend a ton of time on content that a lot of people won't be able to touch. It will be a business decision. WoW had to do exactly this by adding looking for raid because so many people weren't able to reach the end game content just to experience it. But the hardcore people are still happy because if you want the best gear you need play with a guild.

But they didn't show off AW as much. There were only a few armor and equipment just like the Destiny beta

Editado por UncleBlazer311: 8/12/2014 5:55:39 PMI think that if Bungie releases what the game has to offer people will be disappointed. They have always done this, even with Halo. By keeping out the extras and giving us the "need to know" it doesn't allow us to expect too much. COD always does that and it makes people assume there's more to it, only to find out they expected too much and now the game is ruined. So I think Bungie will be fine.

4 RespuestasCoD:AW came out today? Shows how much I give a shit about that series anymore.
-
This is the most pre ordered game in history. I think they're ok.
-
Bungie are masters of the slow-drip info release. They know what they're doing.
-
3 RespuestasI'm pretty sure the only way Bungie can hurt themselves is by jumping without the rope.
-
By being too vague and not as transparent
So they're being too vague but not vague enough? Smh.

5 RespuestasI was going to wait for a ps4 to get Destiny, after playing Beta it forced my hand to get it on ps3. One aspect that gets be to do this is character saved server side, so I won't need to start over when I do get it on the ps4.

1 RespuestaI think you forget about the people who don't play COD. I personally never liked it and never will.
-
6 RespuestasI don't wanna be a modern day gamer who expects everything upfront though.. (ಠ_ಠ)
-
Thing is cod is going to sell whell every year cuz there's ppl who only play cod and will buy it Destiny is a new ip and bungie wants players to have a new experience while they play destiny

2 RespuestasYour worried? What, does this keep you up at night? You have some stake in the company?..... No?.... Chill. Bruh.

4 RespuestasI liked how the Grimoire cards actually helped with the backstory. When I read reviewers saying that they didn't know what is happening and didn't feel for the characters I was gobsmacked. For example... how you died... it's right there in the Grimoire...
... well not now, they wiped it lol.
