  • I didn't mean to suggest it was difficult to devise callouts or anything like that. You just tend to see variance between groups of what callouts they use or whether they even know any to begin with. For example, Halo 2 map Lockout has been remastered in Halo 3 and now Halo 4, and still periodically you can encounter someone whose reaction to callouts such as "top BR" or "blue 2" can only be described as dumbfounded. Maybe developer callouts would help streamlining and potentially eliminate some of that ignorance within the player base, thus leading to a more accessible PvP environment?

  • I'm pretty sure if I remember correctly, Destiny labels the areas your in. Not just PvE but also PvP.

  • I never noticed that personally, but it's entirely possible that I just missed it. I remember they did a similar thing in Halo: Reach multiplayer, where your area was displayed in text on the bottom-left of your screen, underneath your radar. Not sure if the thing you're describing was similar to that (since I never noticed it), but something like that would be really helpful and more than acceptable.

  • Yes I mean exactly that, I'm positive there was onscreen area markings in PvE and I'm pretty sure I remember them in PvE. If I recall correctly they were about as simple and helpful as REACHs' onscreen callouts. I always found it easier to just stick with traditional callouts that have been a staple since H2.

  • Some of those Reach callouts were actually helpful, like on the map Sword Base they said stuff like "Yellow Ramp" or "Yellow Lift." Obviously a bit too long to enunciate but still helpful as a starting point.
