It's practically time travel. While one person may feel like two hours is forever, another can sleep through it and it'll feel like an instant.

If you think about it, the way we normally experience time is a form of time travel; we may not be going very fast or to anyplace particularly exciting, but we are still travelling.

Now, here's the real funny thing about sleeping. Our brain is active during all times of the day. When we sleep, parts of it are non active in a rest state. But our brain is still chugging along doing its thing. And as a result, we have dreams. Every single night. But we seldom remember very, very few of them. Only when we are woken during a sleep cycle do we remember what we were dreaming about. So, in actual reality, every night, for 6 to 8 hours, every person dreams. The passage of time moves as it normally does for us, but when we wake up, because we don't remember what we were dreaming about, it feels like the passage of time is an eye blink from when we laid down, to when we woke up. But for 6 to 8 hours, our brain was active, dreaming up things, places, and people, going through the days events in strange twisted mannerisms, and we're consciously there to see it, but when we wake up, because of this memory loss, it feels like nothing. Just imagine how weird it is. When we're dreaming and sleeping, a part of us is still there, taking it all in, conscious of what's happening, but as soon as we wake up, poof, everything is gone.

Editado por Failure4Life: 7/22/2014 6:17:41 AMWhat if... Sleeping initiates health regeneration and that's why you feel better? It explains why people go unconscious after serious injuries. They ran out of medigel so they have to use normal passive healing. Your health bar slowly depletes while awake.
It's practically time travel.
Well, no. It's just a lapse really, unless you want to count traveling forward in time at a constant rate relative to gravity, then sure.

Yeah, sleep is crazy. When you can get it...
