Bungie Weekly Update - Skyside Mail Sack
I'm on a plane. Gotta drink in front of me. Several members of the Bungie away team are in the rows fore and aft. We're tired and very happy - headed home after a successful mission.
Let's open the Sack.
This has been a week of revelations. I'm not going to break any new stories in coach. Let's talk about the game. Let's dig into war stories from Old Russia and E3.
The talk about Destiny evolved this week from a lecture into a two-way conversation about player experiences. What would you ask about that?

Is pre-loading the beta on the ps4 a possible option?

Will there be proximity chat in the game or can this be something that is incorporated? It would be great feature to have, especially in the Tower.

A question about party splits. At times during the alpha when there weren't a ton of people on, it seemed a party of 5 or 6 was likely to be split up so a match could be had. Is that intended behavior just to get matches in a timely manner, or was that a bug that will be (or has been) addressed?

I experienced what the warlock is capable of and had some quality time with the voidwalker subclass and it only peeked my curiosity as to what my full potential will be in the final game. Are we going to be able to experience all of the sub-classes for each main class in the beta?

If there are swords or other melee weapons in destiny would it replace your usually melee attack and if so what would happen to your subclass? Or would it simply replace a weapon such as your heavy or special?

The cinematic videos give us a taste of the humans and the Awoken (far more arrogant than the wiki's "mysterious" description would seem to indicate), but we still don't seem to know much about the Exos (beyond the personality-free guy on the tower). As a people, do they live in the past and dwell on their failure to protect their creators, or do they face the future with gritty humour and eternal resolve? Can they joke? Can they laugh? Can they love? Do they have the capacity to feel anything at all? In the words of the Geth: "Does this unit have a soul?"
