Wouldn't the sponges just continually absorb blood, therefore making the soldier bleed out without actually bleeding out? Well, we have Active Camo, MACs, and something like Bio-foam. Now all we need is powered battlesuits...

And why not? Anything can exist if there's a demand for it! Why the only reason we don't see mechs walking around shooting missiles is because there are far better alternatives such as the Abrams tank. We have the tech to make it a reality but not the excuse.

18 RespuestasWon't work and is a waste of money to deploy on the battle field. External bleeding rarely causes death in GSWs. These foam sponges will not provide sufficient expansion to stop intraabdominal or intrapelvic bleeding of solid organs. They will not stop the development of pneumothorax or hemothorax in the intrathoracic cavity from injured lung, heart, or great vessel injury.

I still don't think this would stop the bleeding. Especially if one was shot by a hollow point round. And what of the exit wound? The exit is always bigger.

this quickclot type crap is retarded imo. it's just more messy debris for doctors to attempt to remove. this new one is based off of a system of what essentially is a bunch of small cotton-like tampons. a proper bandage like the Israeli type is far better solution.
