Yeah. But surely we want to encourage the rich to spend more. Not tax the shit out of them.

Why make them spend more when we can tax em harder? Look at what the rich buy, nothing that betters the country or it's people. Everyone has to do their part, the poor work hard and the rich pay hard.
-
What do the rich buy?
-
Things that don't benefit anyone but themselves. This whole "trickle down theory" is bs, if you want to generate more money for the economy then invest more in the public sector, the more money the masses have the more they spend, the money will trickle up. Benefit everyone. The capitalists are greedy. Greed disgusts me.

Editado por Bong Cognition: 5/18/2014 1:56:05 PMExcept the economy is driven by investment and savings, not consumption. Spending in the public sector has done nothing but create unsustainable programmes. Pension spending is out of control, healthcare is a weight on the government's ankle and as soon as global interests rise by even a few percentage points, the economy will buckle.
-
So you're saying everyone needs to spend more? Which is encouraged by lower taxes.
-
Yes lower for middle and working class obviously.
-
Do you disagree with equal taxation?
-
Yup, why have equal taxation when the people are not equal?
-
If that's what you think, I'm going to start gathering shekels.
-
You're not a socialist. You're just a populist.
-
Why are you trying to argue with a socialist about economics?
-
You do realize you're just arguing with someone who doesn't know what they're talking about? I consider myself a socialist too, but it's not as easy as giving the poor and middle class a bunch of money one day.
-
I know she isn't a socialist. She's a pseudo-populist militant Keynesian.
-
That is an excellent question.
