It's already the case that killing a human is homicide, so should it be extended to the other three genera of great apes - chimps, orangutans and gorillas?

Editado por Forever Berg: 4/27/2014 7:44:34 PMAnimals aren't as stupid and unintelligent as humans think, it's just human nature to assume that something that is considered lesser means it is completely savage and stupid. This even happened with the treatment of African Americans a long time ago, as they were considered lesser and so lynching them wasn't considered a crime. So yes, it should be considered a major crime for killing a great ape, especially because they are endangered. India has already announced dolphins as intelligent creatures to protect them. Homicide? No. But it should be considered much worse because great apes are dying in numbers.

21 RespuestasEditado por Psy: 4/26/2014 10:11:37 PMPut it this way, if you killed a Chimpanzee whilst I was around and I had a loaded gun... You wouldn't be walking away from that. Killing a great ape is just as heinous as killing a human, perhaps moreso because apes don't have the same capacity for evil, the sentient choice to do wrong by another creature, in the same manner as humans to be precise.

1 RespuestaOther penalties and punishments should be set in place, and I believe they already are as those animals are endangered, but it should not be considered homicide. Homicide is the killing of a human specifically.
-
No. Although it's not right if they're an endangered species. But they're not humans, so therefore it's not homicide.
-
Homicide, no.
-
Homicide? No Would I gladly do the same to the person who murdered it? Yeah

9 RespuestasAnything species with the born ability of being able to rip my face off shouldn't be protected by laws the same way a Human is unless there's a damn good reason. Dolphins, on the other hand, can't rip my face off, are smart, and are awesome. So, Dolphins are okay with me.
