Why are they not showing us all their systems for destiny? Why do I only see 6 seconds of people in masks shooting things? Where's the towns and trading and character customizing? It's not ready to show? It so is.
This is a game I'm rapidly losing
interest in because Bungie has effectively talked more about it than shown anything. I think that might be an explanation for why the forums are so convoluted as of late.

9 RespuestasEditado por FairlySplendid: 1/20/2014 5:02:29 PMSounds to me like half the fun of this game is walking in and discovering its elements, features and mechanics for yourself. For that reason, Bungie is trying its hardest to only paint broad strokes for us.
DeeJ: "We want there to be surprises for you. If you know everything about this game when you get it in your hands there is nothing left to discover…. The game is about solving a mystery. The game is about understanding what happened in our past and securing the treasures, that we can pull out of our past, to safeguard our future. The more I tell you about that, the less interesting this experience becomes. It's not that I don't know. It's not that I don't want you to know. It's that I want you to discover it for yourself. This game is about discovery. It's about exploration..."
6 RespuestasEditado por DEZARATH: 1/21/2014 1:12:45 PMI just went from being really hyped for Destiny to whatever, come out whenever it's just Halo with big maps and AAs. The exploration and RPG elements are being pushed aside because I guess they have to capture their former fan base from Halo as well as appeal to COD. So all Bungie has done since the E3 had just made me feel like I'm supposed to be excited for Reach 2.1. or a Borderlands/Rage deluxe edition. Hell I'm more excited about Space Engineers than Destiny right now. Look shooting aliens and other players is great an all, but really when you come at from as far back as Quake Arena and Doom you just would like to see the quieter moments. Standing in the snowy wastes of Skyrim watching storm clouds cover entire mountain ranges to gliding across the Desert in the Journey where epic monolithic stone structures jut out of the sand greet you. To watching the milling population of the Assassin Creed cities as they trade and gossip. That immersion is really lacking in the Marketing of Destiny. So right now basically its Reach or Lord of the Rings Halo, got it Bungie Marketing. Not much else. Hope the other stuff is there like merchants, city populations, and mysteries compounded with a whole slew of RPG elements to explore next to fighting aliens, because it will certainely enhance the exploration aspects alluded to in the concept art and presentation of the 2013 GDC. Most likely as you get closer to launch these things will be front and center to enhance the story elements that need to be sold to the consumer.

I gotta agree with you on the front for no customising demos or towns being shown I'm still looking forward to destiny but a little info on other game aspects would be nice.

Editado por thefartassassin: 1/21/2014 12:54:57 AMWe have a lot of time between release give a minute, however Bungie did make a huge mistake with Hyping the game, they had trailer after trailer and then nothing, they shouldn't have given the fans so much if they new the release was so far away, kind've a dumb decision, but for you, you need to be patient and give them the time they want.

Because the game is still in Alpha. Proper gameplay usually isn't even recordable until the Post-Alpha, Pre-Beta preparation stage. Aside from cinematically that is.
-
Like Usplendid said, they don't wanna show that much about the game, to keep it a surprise. And the beta is coming out this summer, so you can either participate in that or watch some videos.
-
Other games don't show you anything but gameplay trailers so long before release. The fact that they did tease you with info makes you greedy for more :D As DeeJ well said: "Stay greedy my friend"
