Just as a disclaimer, I'm not here to moan about my recent ban or call out any of the moderators or the employees. I think the likes of Recon, Bobcast, Achronos and DeeJ are all respectable. But it feels like the moderation is going back to its old days.
Several members have found themselves banned recently - including Mentlegan, 0___0 and Gatsby - and it seems like a return of the infamous carpet-banning moderation. What I think is worst of all is that almost all users disapproved of the new system; but at the same time, it was an experiment. But I sort of liked the freedom. I suppose, to some degree, this apparent change back is understandable given the likely influx of younger users with the release of Destiny.
Is anyone else in agreement here? It isn't that the moderation teams aren't doing there jobs, it's just that the style of moderation has altered from what we have become used to by now.
I posted this here because it is an issue specific to the Flood and I want to Flood's opinion. Otherwise I would've put it in #Community
5 RespuestasIts no secrete the new moderation system sucks, but I blame the rules, not the enforcers. Foman is the only one who I think should be tar and feathered. I was literally days away from achieving mythic and the asshole banned me for 2 weeks for saying "Keep it classy flood, Achronos warned you." Two week ban. For that. Just before the site update. Because of him, I never received blue bar, and he should burn.
-
They had some carpet bans before, I got caught in one a few months ago.
-
I don't mind moderation IF its reasonable.. The old Bungie ways was TOO stricted
-
Fgt stay banned and go back to hell

38 Respuestas
I'm not here to moan about my recent ban or call out any of the moderators or the employees.
I think it's a bit hypocritical though how DeeJ bans you because of a post he hated, yet he goes on and on and on about how you should mute the posts you don't like.

1 RespuestaDont forget they banned TheBritishLemon and the idiot made an alt with the name TheBannedLemon lol cudos to them for banning fags like him.
-
Compared to the old fachist system, the moderation of b.next is about as effective as an addict straight out of rehabilitation that's been piledrived headfirst into a vat of used heroin needles, but it's good to see them stepping in more and more.
-
1 RespuestaI actually think things are improving, the mods are actually doing something now.

1 RespuestaSo what was 0___0 banned or?
and it seems like a return of the infamous carpet-banning moderation.
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/59/WW2_air_raid_shelter_-_geograph.org.uk_-_250462.jpg

Editado por SuperIrish: 12/29/2013 6:29:52 PMI don't think it's the moderation, it's the punishment. There is no real threat with banning at all - I mean at the current moment, if you get banned, you just create new account and rename it so everyone knows you're still here. This is clearly shown by the many, many alts of "infamous" members here, and even to an extent, you yourself. I'm not saying that every ban should be a total IP ban, but it has to mean something to actually encourage good content around here (which apart from the odd thread or two, it's seriously lacking). I personally think it would be better there were more involvement by the mods, as it would solve the wider problem with the lack of... "stuff" here. Also, carpet-banning? I was either too green at the time or ignorant to notice this.
-
My ban was a mistake. Achronos lifted it.

3 RespuestasIt's better than the WW2 Germany Bungie.old was.
-
The moderation is as stellar as ever, the moderators do a wonderful job discerning trolls from those who just have differing opinions to the crowd. As somebody with a spotless record, I for one commend them for their work.
-
I for one welcome our new totalitarian overlords.

2 RespuestasEditado por Son of Pride: 12/29/2013 5:16:35 AMWhat baffles me is that people who are obviously joking get banned and the people who say stuff like, "kill yourself" and mean it don't. It seems as if the mods have a personal agenda against people with actual opinions. Almost, anyways.

I like the new system.
-
Agreed. I want bigger carpet bans.

12 Respuestas
It feels like the moderation is going downhill
It never started on any lofty elevation and based on my observation of the posts from members over the years, the path has always been "downhill". Of course, those who are dissatisfied will speak up, those who are not, tend to not say anything. But we (just like the Disembodied Soul) are locked in a never-ending downward spiral. We passed the event horizon long long ago and there's no hope of escape or upward movement. Gravity will not be denied.

Editado por The Tempun II: 12/29/2013 4:44:00 AMJust make a hate thread against the popular users and you'll get banned quick trust me. Camcamms fanboys are relentless white knights.

I haven't noticed. Heck, I basically come here once every three or four days now, posting for thirty minutes. But it's good that they're cleaning up. This site is full of idiots/trolls/shitposters, and maybe now they'll get a hint.
-
3 RespuestasNope, they are enforcing the rules of this site. I have been banned and its entirely my fault, and I won't come back whining about it either. If you don't like to get banned, don't post about killing your classmates or other stupid stuff.

The moderation was never particularly good.
