A painted tortoise just fell onto my roof. I have no idea where it came from or why it isn't in hibernation (or whatever tortoises do in winter). There are no trees close enough for it to have fallen. I'm a bit bewildered. I would post a picture, but it is rather graphic because it's shell is split open and it is quite dead, which means it must have fallen quite a distance. I blame aliens.

Was it a Blue shell?

Story time with Pure. One day, I was mowing my backyard. My pushmower made a loud grinding noise. It surprised me and I quickly backed up. I saw a rock sitting there; that's what I ran over. But I soon realized that it was actually a turtle. I imagine that the poor turtle was terrified. Luckily, its shell protect ed it from harm. I would've picked it up and moved it to a safer location, but I didn't want to frighten it even more. So I stopped and came back a few hours later. The turtle was gone and I finished the lawn. The End.
