Wow, it looks like Destiny has some competition in terms of what Bungie is trying to do with a very expansive open-world experience, however I have yet to know what platforms No Man's Sky will be releasing on, and how "open" or "expansive" it will be. Nevertheless, No Man's Sky looks promising.

6 RespuestasEditado por FairlySplendid: 12/18/2013 4:47:18 PMTwo things that make me wary of No Man's Sky: - Procedurally generated games have a tendency of being really clever and interesting in the beginning, when the idea is fresh, but tedious as the days and weeks pass by. - Watching interviews with the creators I find myself divided. Half of me thinks they are really on to something. The other half thinks they seem young and naive of what they really have on their hands. Like the final product will be impressive but not iterated to a level that will be consistently engaging. They'll get the broad strokes right, but will screw up the finer details. I'll definitely pick it up, seem like a cool concept. However, comparing it to Destiny is just obtuse and naive. They are two completely different gameplay experiences that are going in two totally different directions.

looked ok. Combat looked like it won't be AAA grade and enemy AI will probably be low also. As far as exploring goes it looks like it will kill Destiny.... As far as dynamic events goes they will lack the flare and cinematic feel destinys will have. It didn't look like it will be a loot hunting character customizing RPG either and it lacks real time multiplayer which is a huge part of destiny. Then a lack of story... Yeah it won't be destiny competition.. If anything it will be a game you pick up also but besides the ability to explore it lacks almost everything else destiny has.

Editado por Apotheosis: 12/19/2013 12:08:42 AMIt won't be in direct competition with Destiny. It has asynchonous multiplayer. It won't really scratch that MMO itch people have. That being said, I'm still excited out of my mind for it.

Ya you're way late on this.

This and the Telltale Borderlands game were the only good thing about the 2013 VGX.

6 RespuestasIt could be very good, I hope it's multi-platform. The only excuse for not going multi is that they got bribed. God exclusivity pisses me off.

Editado por tntbabin: 12/18/2013 10:01:36 PMThe game definitely looks to have potential and while going for the whole space exploration thing like Destiny, looks to be a different kind of game. Destiny, looks to be going more for co-op combat experiences on strange alien worlds, with a bit of exploration added, where as I get more of a lonely survival and exploration vibe, with combat added where needed from No Man's Sky. Definitely interested in both games.

The game is nothing like Destiny.

I'm keeping an eye on this game. By what I can tell you are journeying to the center of the galaxy hopping star systems and exploring planets. You'll find resources, treasures, and danger the closer you wind in. You can share your purely scientific discoveries with the community or horde the booty all for yourself (until someone takes it). Obviously there's not going to be the same depth and story as Destiny. Destiny instead focuses on a handful of planets we're familiar with. So that's discovery on a macro scale vs. discovery on a micro scale.

Looks like a game I'll be watching along side Destiny.

I need to see more, because right now. We know almost nothing.

Editado por TyrantGilchrist: 12/18/2013 3:35:41 PMThe biggest reason that game doesn't hold a candle to destiny In my opinion. Is the fact that i cant actually play with my friends. Co-op and competitive multiplayer always come first for me. Because if im not with my friends it isn't nearly as fun.
