I respect and appreciate when a studio talks about where their game fell flat

So he's responsible for the insanely fast SR ranking system...
-
Rank-wise I believe 2 separate ranking systems would be ideal. One like the H2/H3 system based on player skill, the other based on progression. Both can allow their own armors and whatnot to be unlocked.

2 RespuestasWell, he's gonna get fired.
-
5 RespuestasI appreciate the guy's responses, but where was this kinda of feedback months ago?
-
1 RespuestaSeems like Peter Molyneux 2.0.
-
4 RespuestasNow I'm waiting for them to admit they didn't give the Campaign gameplay enough attention.
-
2 RespuestasWhile multiplayer is fine and all, I want to know what was going through their heads when they made the campaign. Why they chose to make the Master Chief into a pussy, and why the Forerunners hate humanity. When in the past games, we were under the impression that the Forerunners liked us, and Master Chief was very capable (and not an emotional train wreck) without Cortana. Seeing as he spent the majority of his military career without her. And he was just fine with leaving her at the end of Halo 2, and he wasn't falling apart and crying throughout Halo 3. Also, there's a terminal in Halo 3 where the Librarian is talking to the Didact about the humans and earth. The way she talks about them is as if they've just been discovered. Yet 343 would have us believe that humans and Forerunners were at war with each other thousands of years before. I would like them to explain how that makes any sense as well.

This gives me a little more hope in Halo 5, but I'mma still hold out until there's more info.

1 Respuesta
Halo MP is a challenging beast. Part of my love for it is the Quake arena tradition. We didn't service this so well in Halo 4.
This line alone made me so much more excited for H5. Bring back the arena style!
-
I don't know if its the games or the way the game was made. But spawning completely hates my ass. Perfect example was ten minutes ago when I spawned in the exact same place every time I spawned and about five minutes in an enemy started camping behind my spawn. I was stuck there, getting assassinated over and over and over again until my teammates after two minutes finally decided to shoot at him allowing me to assassinate him.

Hopefully they learned from H4s faults and H5 can give the Halo series what it deserves.

12 RespuestasPeople keep acting like 343i is a horrible company, but forget that halo 4 was their first official game and that they werent going to make the greatest halo game ever right off the bat. While i think halo 4 was a good game with its faults, i think it couldve been a lot better and a lot worse. I think 343i understands that and they have been working hard to improve the game and i think that speaks volumes about them that theyre willing to admit their faults and improve on them.
-
3 RespuestasI don't think they will actually remove anything.
-
33 RespuestasI'm done with 343i they pissed me off one to many times. see you starside.
-
I'd respect them more of they discussed the real issues of Halo 4 and what they mean for Halo 5. All those issues in those tweets aren't major problems, just the easier ones that are easier to deflect. I want to hear about his thoughts on ordinance drops, CTF, the missing features like Assault and Firefight, the failure of Spartan Ops, instant respawns, the lack of drama and how catering for casuals robs the game of its competitive edge.
-
1 RespuestaWow, that is the first time I've heard anyone from 343 specifically talk about the game like that.
-
12 RespuestasI've always said people learn from their mistakes..
-
2 RespuestasInteresting that he comments on how BTB was a major focus despite the fact that it may be the clunkiest to date. It's almost unbelievable to me that they would keep vehicle health similar to Reach, not to mention the all-around awful maps. Even the Valhalla remake suffers under H4's mechanics. I'm more optimistic since the game is being acknowledged as faulty, but still worried that 343i doesn't understand the finer details behind the strength of big team gameplay in earlier titles.

5 RespuestasEditado por Ttasmmv: 11/29/2013 1:54:15 AMJust play Quake Live! (:> )) There's no game in the Quake series called "Quake arena" xD
-
5 RespuestasThe whole Quake Arena comment restores a limited amount of hope in me, that the next Halo won't suck like the last two.

Editado por Omega Riddler: 11/29/2013 1:45:02 PMNo ranking system at launch and when they added one, it wasn't in game. Spartan Ops multiplayer suffered from the same input lag firefight suffered from. I would rather be knocked out of zoom than have my aim messed with when i'm hit. The SAW really screws up the aim. No File Share System at launch. No theatre in campaign or online co-op for campaign, screwed over the speed running community. Promethean Knights were too much of a pain in the ass. In my humble opinion. The game was incomplete and needed more time to be finished. After reading that article, ranking system was too easy and once you maxed your sr rank, boosting for achievements and commendations was no problem because you only received xp bans which didn't matter at that point

1 RespuestaGood thing 343i is actually listening
-
1 RespuestaGood, there is so much potential for the Halo series, especially with the launch of the new generation. I don't think a game has been created that matches Halo's fluidity and team based combat.

15 RespuestasEditado por DisturbedShifty: 11/29/2013 4:27:39 PMTo be honest I wish they would go back to ranked play lists and social play lists like in Halo 2. And have the armor linked to achievements. Or at the very least leave in the money system for armor. Just don't have it tie to the ranking.
-
4 Respuestas"Well you see we wanted to make a -blam!-ton of money so we cut out all the good shit that made Halo, Halo and put in a buttload of random crap to make the game appeal to everyone"
-
2 RespuestasI have no problem with the continuation of Galo, but the execution should not leave much to be desired, like H4 did Hopefully the next two games won't be so bad
