Remember when the playstation 3 came out? Everyone said it would be so much better than the 360, especially because it had stronger hardware. Well the xbox came out on top, in sales, functionality, and could compete with a console that had superior specs.
Playstation had many different problems as well, gamers suffered with playstations inability to function, game devs were having an incredible amount of trouble designing games for the console, for example skyrim. Devs where having trouble with making the game work, and when dlc rolled in, playstation couldn't even get some of the dlc's due to the fact that devs couldn't make them work.
Further more, playstation was hacked, a multimillion dollar company was hacked, and hundreds of thousands of credit card numbers where stolen, and what do they do as an apology? The throw some free stuff at us, the consumers and think it's ok.
So I am curious, do you think the ps4 will be what it's hyped up as, or flop as the ps3 ?
i believe it will, graphics can only get you do far.
Editado por David: 11/12/2013 1:46:25 AMNo. Sony's problem this/last gen is MS current problem: PR and messaging. They came out arrogant as -blam!- with saying stuff along the lines of "Next gen doesn't start until we say so", "Rumble is last gen"(and then 180'ed on that later), "We don't believe in gimmicks"(also 180'ed on that w/ Sixaxis) and went on to say that they wanted to gives devs a challenge so they made Cell. This time around, Sony got feedback from devs(unified memory, x86 architecture, better controller for FPSs, easier to develop for and so on.) They also made a flat out stronger system than the competitor with no strings attached this time around.

Short answer, nope

My PS friends think that their (what was is one free game) free game(s) were completely worth what they lost and it made up for everything. I asked if I could have their credit card for a burrito. Four of them said yes.

That's a lot of hate friend. I guess we will all see in a couple of days.

2 RespuestasEditado por TheThunderDumpling: 11/11/2013 10:55:23 PMThe PS3 was a problem because of the processor, which made it difficult to program for, and the price at launch, because of the Blueray. If anything, the ps3 at launch was closer to what the X1 is at launch. A gaming console that was trying to tackle the multimedia aspects at the same time, and change the format of physical media and trying to beat MS and Toshiba to make sure that Blue Ray won. Funny....if I am not mistaken isn't that exactly what the X1 is doing, trying to beat Apple and Google to the living room, with a higher priced, more complex console, that was trying to change the format of media from physical to digital? If anything Sony has held back on the PS4, and Xbox is doing what Sony did last Gen. Noone will know who was over hyped until a year or two from now, and all the problems get worked out. You sound like a crappy American newscaster, nothing but speculation, based on very little information.

6 RespuestasNo, the circumstances are a lot different this time. The PS4 is getting a head start in certain territories, unlike the PS3 The PS4 is the less expensive console this time around, unlike the PS3. The PS4 is significantly easier to develop for than the PS3 ever was.

12 RespuestasPS3 flop? It has more sales than the 360 worldwide.

1 Respuesta
Remember when the playstation 3 came out? Everyone said it would be so much better than the 360, especially because it had stronger hardware.
Yeah I don't remember that either.

I don't think it will flop, at least not the to same degree as the PS3.
-
6 RespuestasI don't remember when anyone said the ps3 will come out on top... The 360 bested it at launch easily. 600$ for a crap box that played blue ray and had no (top notch) game(s)? Lolno.
-
One will come out on top, playstation network just can't compete with Xbox live
-
Of course it will. The XB1 will be on psr with the PS4 just like next-gen.
-
2 RespuestasWell, the PS4's architecture is much more similar to the Xbox One's, than the PS3's to the 360's. Those troubles for developers may not be the case this time around, making the hard specs that much more important.
-
Lol. Yes Yes it will.
