Right I have a history project due on him, I have entitled it "Che Guevara - Did the ends justify the means?"
So basically I'm looking at should he have been celebrated as he is, or should he be condemned? Or somewhere inbetween.
Either way he led an extraordinary life. Anyone with a view supporting him or against him just post below, might incorporate it into the essay if it's a real good answer.

7 RespuestasIf his legacy is anything to go on, he didn't do a very good job of "freeing the people". What Marxism (his political ideology) does is take the power from private citizens and put it in the hands of the government. Today, instead of greedy landlords keeping the people down, it's their own government. Che become too caught up in reading about the ideas of a Marxist revolution rather than the outcome of one. It sounds like a good idea on paper, but it can never be implemented. Something that bothers me about his revolution is that he saw it as simply fulfilling laws foreseen by Marx. It's like he was a scientist and Cuba was his test tube. He wasn't trying to fix each individual issue, he was trying to completely bring down the political landscape of Cuba by making the people focus on those few issues.
