There's been some talk about Xbox ones dedicated servers being on every game, my question is, will this carry over to the PS4? I've been a Xbox fan since the first system, however this year, the PS4 is the console I'm leaning more towards, sadly I'm torn due to the so called bad connection the PS3 gets, if this is true, I'm worried this reputation will carry over to the PS4. So, will the PS4 consist of dedicated servers, or will it have a decent connection to look forward to, please, inform me.

8 Respuestasaaaaannnnnd the xbox fanboy army has arrived to spew more of the "every game will have dedicated servers paid for by MS!" bullshit. Certain fanboys would have you believe that MS is going to pay for and supply EVERY mp game that comes out with dedicated servers. Only a colossal moron would actually believe and attempt to push that obvious bullshit on to someone else.

11 RespuestasI have a ps3 and use terrible wifi Internet and STILL never lag.

32 RespuestasWe're not sure yet. Since Sony likes to 1+ MS so much, it may happen. All I know is, Killzone Shadow Fall may get them, supposedly, and DriveClub has them. Confirmed by Evolution. Don't worry, you'll be fine. Dedicated Servers are superior to P2P, but did you lag on XBL any? I don't lag on my PS3 now. So unless you have awful internet, you'll be fine.

16 RespuestasMy god...please don't believe all X1 games will have dedicated servers. I have yet to find anyone who actually posts real evidence of it cause most of the time their "proof" is a writer's personal words. PS3 connections are just as fine as 360's. It depends on the games on whether or not the dev/pubs use them. Probably expect X1 exclusives to be a given but as for multiplats? Expect the same amount of support for both systems as far as the actual structure of the games. Devs/Pubs will still decide whether or not to use them.

The main thing with the PSN is not the PSN itself. From what I can tell is that all PS3 games with multiplayer are Peer to Peer. This might possibly be fixed with Gaikai's help next year though no one is for sure what all Gaikai's involvement entails excepts Sony themself. Though I usually have no problem with Peer to Peer myself.... Except mouth breathers and people's families screaming and yelling in the background with low quality audio so it sounds like "iwfnefiefgusf fewbfesiuyfg"

3 RespuestasFirst party games like Killzone and Driveclub will surely have dedicated servers. Third party stuff is up to the devs.
-
3 RespuestasIt won't have as good servers I usually lean towards Xbox for multiplayer
-
2 RespuestasThe PS4 will probably have dedicated servers, they will probably announce it at gamescom as well as the release date and new exclusives.
-
My internet is pretty great, so I usually have no problem with lag. (I'm probably pulling host, but still)

5 RespuestasMicrosoft has already confirmed and repeated (many times) that every single game on the Xbox One will have dedicated servers. They spent an insane amount of money to lift LIVE's server base from 15,600 servers (360) to 300,000 servers for the One. This is so that LIVE can keep it's spotless reputation as having the best and most uninterrupted multiplayer experience that the gamer can have. Does my wording sound fan-boyish? Sure. Is what I wrote still true? Yes. Sony has not confirmed anything for the PS4 in regards to dedicated servers other than "We'll let the Devs decide".

6 Respuestas
There's been some talk about Xbox ones dedicated servers being on every game
That could be very possible since Microsoft is investing in tons of servers. However for smaller games that may not be the case.
my question is, will this carry over to the PS4?
No. Even though the same game will be on different platforms (Call of Duty is a great example), they do not use the same servers. Xbox games use Xbox servers, PlayStation games use PlayStation servers, etc. etc. and there is no cross with them.

So many assholes on this thread...it hurts...

1 RespuestaNo only xbox one unless the dev want to pay for dedicated servers and they haven't yet so...

2 RespuestasI play a ps3 online I don't seem to have lag except for a very few games where the problem is not the network but the way the game was done. Everybody always says playstation network is absolutely terrible but I just don't see it. As for the month network outage it didn't really affect me because I did stuff in real life and Xbox fanboys who want to say that shit like that doesn't happen with live are wrong because it has just for a shorter time period because ms didn't do a major overhaul and then swept it under the rug. And finally for the ps4 if the connection is the same as it is now I would be happy but it will most likely get better with the necessary ps+ which I find to be a better deal than gold. If u have questions just ask

3 RespuestasEditado por MeatShieldGriff: 8/17/2013 5:22:01 PMSony doesn't have the infrastructure necessary to provide dedicated servers on the same level as Microsoft. They are after all a major computer company. Just how it is.

11 Respuestasif you used -blam!-ing google you couldve saved yourself an entire post. countless useless comments. and...oh wait, youre the brain dead kid. carry on.

It'll have it for some games, but not for others, it's up for the publishers to decide- like how it is now. P2P is improving all the time, the only draw back is when you're connected to a host in Mexico, whilst you live in Australia. Furthermore dedicated servers have their own issues, e.g. when they're turned off.
-
Nope. Xbox Online continues to reign supreme.
-
Then Sony would be making a serious loss, they'd probably die not long after the PS4 releases with that decision. They're already giving their consumers far too much.
-
No, only for Battlefield 4 sorry :(
-
25 RespuestasMicrosoft is offering to rent out dedicated servers to any developer that wants to pay the fee. Essentially it's the SAME as it is now, accept MS is offering the service. There are certain games even this gen that had dedicated servers. It's just one more piece of bullshit that fanboys throw around.

33 RespuestasPs3 doesnt get bad connection. What are you on about?
-
Sony has never confirmed this.
