343 making it "cool" to do the opposite of obvious
Interesting today to learn that they're doing a Pit remake for halo 4. Why do i have a small problem with this? Well....there have been forge remakes of the pit since the game launched. Some of them are perfect. I won't even get into how they just made the pit brown and put a bloom sky over head. If they're trying to lure players back, you'd think they'd remake another popular halo map right? No i'm not talking about lockout as there are perfect forge remakes of those too. (a better sky box would be nice though.) I'm thinking they should've remade a map that ALL halo players LOVE, but is virtually impossible to make in forge. Why the EFF did they not remake midship? Or even better, how about 3 remakes? Midship, guardian(orgasms), and bloodgulch? I'd honestly consider giving it a shot. Is it cool to not do the obvious in the offices of 343?

1 RespuestaI just think 343 need to learn how to create genuinely good maps that can bring in players based purely on their originality and design. Instead 343 have to try and get players to return by bringing back stuff ripped off from Bungies work; The Pit, ODST and Mk V armor too. Not surprised at all.

Guardian was -blam!-ing amazing. If they remade that I'd actually play Halo 4.

I don't really like midship/heretic. Those were this first maps I experienced grenade spawning on as bad as in what would be Reach and 4.

All of these maps that you suggested have been remade, nearly all of the halo maps have been remade, that's the problem, the pit however was one of the biggest Halo 3 maps and the most loved for some reason. So, they have that, plus the armour from previous halo's to make it nostalgic basically. This was a smart move by them.

1 RespuestaI like that the PIT will be remade in H4, though I'd rather have larger maps brought back. Blood Gulch would be nice again. Sand Trap would be fun within BTB slayer and the new Skirmish playlist. I'd throw Sidewinder in there since there is no snow maps whatsoever. Also, I'd doubt Midship would be a good remake. I mean I like the map, but with the Armor Abilities present it would be a giant cluster of randomness.

Meh. At least they're remaking the Pit NOW rather than in later games. That way it's likely we'll be getting better maps in the future.
